Below is a post from another thread and a shot from the service manual.

Picture right out of the manual. I suggest a large screwdriver with large end. I pulled some out of an intake the other day that had been in for 60,000 miles. They took a bit of pressure and as they came out some of the lower o-rings tore (I have new lower o-rings) Be sure to use a shop towel over the injector when rotating it with pliers. Use the towel over the intake when prying the injector out. On the gen1 you may need to remove the two bolts holding the drivers side throttle bracket....you may want to scribe around those bolts to get the bracket back in the same exact position. It should be a 15 minute job.

These "like new" stock injectors are advertised in the classifieds for only $200. If you've got a few miles these are about the price of getting OLD injectors tested and cleaned?

What I would look at when buying used injectors (and not wanting to have them checked/cleaned) is how long have they been out. If anyone has ever had lawn equipment, Seadoo, four wheeler etc. carb problems after setting all winter then you know what the inside of an injector could look like after the fuel has dried up. That would make a nice low mileage set for a quick swap....and to make sure they are ok spend the $100 to have them cleaned ;)

Sorry to revive an old thread, but my car is an '01 and it's time to pull injectors for cleaning/calibrating. Based on what's written here, I relieve pressure in the fuel rail, remove the hold-down bracket, rotate approx. 180 degrees and pry them out?

Is that all there is to it?:dunno:

Thanks, Tony. Enjoy VOI and I'll get the injectors to you after you get back. Can you PM me the address to ship them to?

99% you will have damage to the stock two o-rings on each injector. They are cheap. Just get new ones and lube them up on the way back in so you do not ruin the project. Fuel leaks ****. Well they weep not **** but you get the idea.
