Well, time to upgrade the lame exhaust on my new ACR. I had a Belanger setup on my old ACR (headers + catback), like the sound of it better than Corsa. I'm going with that setup again, but curious as to whether to go with random tech High Flows as well? Costs a good bit more, but if the sound and HP gain is worth it why not?

Also, does the headers do a lot for exhaust sound and HP? I should have dynoed my old car with and without, not too worried about HP but if the sound is much different I may consider. Thanks

Can't really say about the headers (haven't had a chance to buy and install them) but I just put on the belanger cat back and high flow cats about a month ago. Jon B recommended that setup for best power gains over the other setups. I'd also recommend going with the full belanger system, install would be MUCH easier since they're made to work together. I don't have any dyno results so I can't say much on actual numbers.

I've got pics of the install if you're interested as well.

I emailed Jon, haven't heard back from him but he was pretty busy I'm sure (monday) plus he had responded to a few emails I had sent him this morning so he will probably get me tomorrow.

I definitely want at least the catback, the headers are like $1800 on top of everything else, if it's just a 40 HP gain and better look I won't bother, unless there is noticeable sound difference.

I have the full Belanger setup and posted a 447rwhp on the dyno. Only other mod is smooth tubes and T&D rr's. Not sure what it did before since the car came that way.

hmm that's interesting. My ACR has the smooth tubes (came with the package), wonder how much the rockers added to your HP gain?

I just did the full Belanger and Lou Belanger wasn't too keen on the Ramdom techs...give him a call as well.
BTW I love it!

I have Belanger Headers, Random tech high flows and a Mopar rear catback exhaust. Woodhouse set it up that way and I have heard a LOT of Viper exhausts but this thing.......Wow. I would never have thought to spec it that way but the original owner (Who just happened to be a an ex Dodge Engineer working for Roush ordered it that way with Woodhouse coaching probably. He must have known something.... The Mopar rear is beautiful too with Sneaky Pete engraving on the pipes where they stick out the rear. No dyno yet but it feels MUCH stronger than my old car which just had tubes filters and snakeoyl rear.

My car is at the Dodge dealer now for a different service, but I inquired about the Mopar rear... "Can't find it" came the not-so-helpful reply. They show it for the new Vipers, not the Gen IIs.

Was yours retrofitted from a Gen III part number? Any ideas how to get this? Thanks.

Mopar 96-02 Viper Cat-Back Exhaust Kit [5007274] - $1,259.69 : Performance Parts - Ford Mustang - Cobra - Dodge Viper - Chevy Corvette - C6 - LS1

It's basically the Borla system with Sneaky Pete's etched in the tips.

Bellanger headers and hiflo cats can be purchased as a package.

Lou supplied Carsound (Magnaflow) hiflo cats for my car...could this be the reson he does not recommend another brand?

The header/cat combination made the car much louder. Neighbors were not happy so I moved...nobody around hear but bears, dear, wild turkey and snakes... Viper included. lol
