New to the VCA, I've been reading up on Vipers but they seem to be a rarity where I live (Northeast Kansas). Are there any club members that live in the same geographical area that would be willing to have me drive over and learn something about their vehicle?

If you cant find any club members near by (or even if you do) let me still recommend the book "Vipers Buyers Guide" by Maurice Liang. It is an awesome book! I bought one AFTER buying my car just to read it. They've got a few used ones (and new ones) on Amazon at Book It covers each year of Vipers up until 2004 with all sorts of info, interviews and pictures for each year and trimline of the Viper

The Maurice Liang book is a very good book. Many car books have incorrect info but I haven't been able to find anything wrong in Maurice's book.

Spend some time surfing the International Viper Registry Site and order all the back issues you can get of Viper Quarterly and VIPER Magazine. Want to learn "Everything"? Viper service manuals!

Beside the "Viper Buyers Guide", my favorite is one done in '92 called "Viper" by the editors of Consumers Guide, it has been out of print for years, but if you look, you can find one. There are several magazine article compilation books, one from R&T and one that compiles articles from a lot of different magazines, both are good from the aspect of lots of info. Mat Stone's Viper is average and filled with incorrect info, but lots of nice pics.

I picked up a copy of that book last week and ate it up--good read! Unless anyone knows of a club member in the area, I'll probably make the three hour pilgrimage to Woodhouse in Nebraska.

Actually, there are a few owners up that way (Troy, St. Joe, etc.). All are happy members of the Kansas City VCA. That said, make the drive to Woodhouse and see if you can get 10 minutes with Bill Pemberton. He knows enough about Vipers to answer darn near anything you ever wanted to know - and you may even leave with one for your garage if you aren't careful... :2tu:

Sounds like a plan to me. Now I just gotta find some time off. When is the next Kansas City get together (I'm assuming that would be the nearest thing to Manhattan, KS)?

The USPS truck just dropped mine off this afternoon from Amazon. I hope the wife knocks off early tonight so I can have a good quiet read!
