Colors?
What about this?

"Management has dictated that all car platforms have to stand on their own business plans"

I don't care what color it is.
If this is true, there will be no more Vipers.

Joe:

This may not mean that the sky is falling. It merely means that at a corporate level, the SRT group is accountable for the success of its own business plan.

That is why I said weeks ago that a new marketing strategy and target group is needed. This (thankfully) is no longer the 90s, and being maintained by glory is unlikely. Competition is on the rise (as it was in the late 60s), but the same marketing approach is unlikely to be viable.

I believe that this is good:
a. New products more in line with 2006+ consumer demand
b. The end of the vehicle and assured collectibility*

*tongue in cheek

Chris,

Do you think that Dodge released Yellow as a year color because of the way they saw their elite 50 Yellow VCA cars being mistreated by being run to Barrett Jackson and resold?

As Chris stated, I went for the yellow, because..well John Fernandez PROMISED me yellow for 03. It was the color I wanted. I would have NOT paid the extra $5K if I had known it would be the standard color for 05. I'm disapointed in the turn of events, but I still love my VCA SRT. It's no longer special, but I like it anyway! Ya would have thought the colow would have been DIFFERENT than the previous yellow cars!
Like others have said...specail runs.... will not see me in line. That goes for the "new" coupe since I don't fit.

Vic: Fiasco...implying that the yellow VCA car was going to be unique...then releasing it as a standard production color.

Ah, ok, I see your meaning. That was kinda awkward....to put it mildly..

Hey Paul,
I see you have a yellow Rumble Bee in your avatar. Did you buy the one that Lynnwood Dodge had in their show room for months? I thought about buying it, especially when they lowered the price so far, but I couldn't figure out what I would do with it after buying it. It is a very nice truck. It looks good next to your Viper.

Interestingly enough, they decided on producing yellow BEFORE the ink was dry on the VCA SRT-10's paperwork: I heard about yellow as a 2005 production color on July 1st - and took delivery of my VCA SRT on September 9th. Oh yeah, and the Barrett-Jackson VCA SRT never went there and is still owned by the guy that took delivery in Dallas. However there are quite a few others that have changed hands...

Remember that one big difference in a marine environment is that the engine builder does not have to contend with the EPA.
Yup, because water is not part of the environment.

DCX/SRT can try to explain it several different ways, but I think their actions have killed all future special edition raffles based upon color.
