I joined this forum at the end of last year but have not posted anything. I mainly joined because I was thinking about buying one and was not sure of the differences between the model years and didn't know anyone who has ever owned one. My car experience has always been muscle cars. Most of my cars have been Mopars. Hemi & 6 pack cars. I Have always thought that Vipers were one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I retired at the end of last year and went to Florida for a month. While in Florida I found website (TURO) that had a Viper that I could rent! I figured to rent one before I decided to invest in one. It was a 2013 coupe that was no where near stock. What a BEAST! The owner claimed it had 600 RWHP. Needless to say I was hooked! Next week my wife & I are going on a road trip to look at a 2008 coupe. If everything is what I think it is we will be driving it home to Michigan. Approx. 600 miles. Should be a fun road trip.

Good luck. I've had my 2004 a little over a year now. I've owned a 2009 Cobra Mustang, 77 Vette & a 2004 350 Z and driven a few of the new Vette's when I was thinking of buying one of them the last few years. I cannot believe this car. Amazing. The 350 Z was easier and more comfortable, but no where near as much fun. Safe trip home.

It's easy to get hooked. My mom has wanted one since they came out and finally got her 94 around 7 years ago. I was in the market for a new car and was looking at Challengers, but after driving hers I got the idea to look for a Viper. Ended up with my 04 and have had it for 6+ years and 80,000+ miles. There's just something different about them. My dad had a C7 Vette for a little while and while it might have similar performance figures, the driving experience just wasn't the same. The Viper just feels more connected. It's hard to really describe.

Home from Minnesota picking up our 2008 Viper. It was a awesome 630 mile road trip. We averaged 23.5 MPG. I never thought the mileage would be that good. What a great trip.
