Is 1000 miles on the odometer enough to take my car to the track???

I just got FE# 286 a month ago and have about 1000 babied miles on the clock.
Can I now ring it out at HPDE's? Should I wait to really drive aggresively at road courses? Thanks

I also have just put my first 1000 miles on a '02 Viper and was wondering if it can be run at a drag strip? I followed the Herb Helbig break in procedure and his states that after 1000 miles you're ready to rumble!!!

I think that you should wait a bit longer. :ooo: Most dealers will tell you that you should be careful and not get even close to redlining your engine until at least 2500 miles. It makes the engine last longer and will help you out in the long run. I just got my new RT/10 and now it has 1000 miles. I have not driving it past 4000 RPM's. When it really comes down to it, it is personal choice but I would not recommend doing it. Just my two cents! :D
