Pretty much everything that moves on the car, other than normal stuff. Pads/rotors/bulbs/wipers/weatherstiping isn't covered. I just bought one for my car about 3 weeks ago. 0 ded, 60k miles.
:)
With the cost of parts for these cars, one or two minor repairs and you get your money's worth, let alone if the engine goes.

Agreed. I have the plus something or other warranty. It has paid for itself twice over with a new tranny and head gasket repair.

Thanks Wizard!

I think it's definitely worth it! I got mine from the Irish man himself...Bill Pemberton.

I think I paid under $2000 for my max care and it's paid for itself already!

I had two bad wheel bearings go out covered!. A real leaking caliper that dripped brake fluid on my rims and they replaced it with a new rim and new calipers. Side sill yellowing...repainted (it might have been under my 3 year OEM warranty).

Plus many minor mechanical stuff such as sensors....you will be thankful you did!

I purchased three extended warranties - for my 96 GTS
Last one cost $1,800
Found the local dealer willing to give the best deal as he expected to get the warranty work - I would go there first, so long as its not the ***** that tried to rip you off on the brake deal.

I ran my car in Viper Days and other open track events over a five year period - when the warranty work hit $15,000 I quit asking for a receipt.
Are these things worth it - frankly anyone that does not have an extended warranty is missing the best deal since they invented the Model T - Go get one.

Keith,

I went for it and it makes sense as well as when an issue comes up the decision is easy. My car had sixth gear issue, very rare problem but none the less a problem. Cheap route is to drop tranny and do partial rebuild or fix. Chuck gave it the once over, several weeks later new tranny installed (with some better components accroding to CHuck) $100 dedductable on $5K plus job. No brainer.........Good Luck !

I'm assuming from the thread here...that the Maxcare warranty is just and extended warranty on a new car purchase.

Is there something comparable to be purchased on a used Viper?

I bought the Powertrain Care Plus for my used Viper at the time there was no more factory WTy left. Best I could get for 4 yrs 48K miles about $1750.

It doesn't cover pads, rotors, gas cap corrosion, weatherstriping and all those annoying things that I encountered.

If you guys are price checking, check with the man that did the group purchase on extended warrantys last year. The price was not beaten at that time. Mike Robbins at Ringgold Chy/Dodge 706-935-2328 or e-mail at [email protected]

I'm not sure about those 96 and 97 cares especially the s/cd cars :)

I just purchased a 7 yr, 50,000 mile Max Care warranty ($100 deductible) from Dodge for $1,490. Call Mike Robbins at Ringold Chrysler/Dodge 706-935-2328. There are some variations on the deductible and mileage so you can customize it to your needs. This price is $100 over cost per Mike Robbins. Gives you warranty from the in service date for 7 yrs and 50,000 miles. If you want a copy of the entire service contract, e mail me and I'll fax it to you.

Quoting Mr. Tator:

"Unfortunately DC has changed their guide lines as of Nov 1st 03 and now I can only go back 48 months from the in service date on vehicles. Your 98 is now to old. Sorry! I use to be able to sell the contracts on the older vehicles, not any more."

You guys with 2000 and newer are lucky. I'm stuck with paying almost 2000 bucks for a 2 yr warranty.
