Is there a Chip in my Key? Dodge dealer says so...

So, I only have one key for my 2002 RT/10. Called the local dealer as I get a discount with them and they said it is $124. Yes I did a search on this site but it will not pick up any threads if I search with a 3 letter keyword. Is there a chip in the 2002 keys? That's what the dealer says. I looked on ebay and can get one for around $40.

So here is a little secret to help your search in the future.
If the item you are listing is only a three letter word add in an asterisk after to make it longer. Example: DLM*
You could have also added in another pertaining word like Viper Keys
Makes searching a bit easier. Hope this helps.

No need for the fancy key if your on a budjet or just looking for a couple extra spares. Simply take it up to a hardwarestore and they'll make a copy with the applicable chrysler blank for a few bucks. As for the FOB, i purchased mine online for 75(dont remember where though) Took it to the dealership to be programed. They plugged the computer into my OBD2 port and set it up after about 10min. Charged me for a halfhour of labor; 40bucks. not bad considering some dealerships will not do anything less than an hour...

Well there is a auction right now on Ebay that is selling a key for the 2006 and up models but the picture of the key is a Sneaky Pete and looks just like mine. So I figured they just had it listed wrong.
