I am curious if there is such a thing as a code 55, I read a post earlier that mentioned turning key on and off 3 times and counting the flashes.
For the first time my check engine light flashed once today on the way to work.

I am not sure if it is not indicating to me that the fan burnt up, which is what happened on Saturday. I was sitting at a light and a lot of smoke was coming from under the hood. So I pulled over to check it out, tons of smoke was coming from the electric fan and it stunk like heck. Not working now either.
So I am dropping it off today, was curious if that code had to do with that?
Thanks,
Ed

Ed,
55 is end of test sequence. When you roll the key on three times, the check engine light will come on steady for a few seconds and then flash two digit codes at you. 55 is the end.

New fan module!

You may have had a pending code when the fan burned out. The flashing "55" just means "system check is complete," it's *not* a problem code. Assuming you have a constant "check engine light" try disconnecting the battery at the jump post first. You will get a "battery disconnected within 50 cycles" code when you pull a flash code when cycling the key.

Good luck and if you have any questions give us a call!

Thanks Chuck and Doug!! I will disconnect the battery once I get a new fan put in, very soon.
