Is this a normal sound?

Is this normal? Is this amount of play and sound seem right. I have always noticed some noise but is this normal or is something worn out?

Best video i could get. I just move the wheel back and forth a few inches and it makes this noise.

not in gear, in Neutral. just under 71k

the rear end was replaced at 53k. they replaced the rear end, 2 u-joints, and drivers side half shaft

I put it in gear and there is about 2 inches of play with the wheel and produces the same knocking sound

It sounds like the gear lash was never set properly in that diff.
Open up the diff. and put a dial on the ring gear to see if the backlash is in spec.

Might have a little too much backlash, but I have seen the same or worse on new cars. With the 3.07 I think this is more exaggerated than if the gear was shorter.

I have 3.55 gears. It was installed by Tom Sessions, so im sure he installed it correctly. I just wanted to make sure nothing was wearing or broken.
