This month's issue of the Society of Automotive Engineers magazine has an article about a Saleen prototype. Saleen "helped" with the Ford GT. Notice the similarities to 2000_Black_RT10's predicted Gen 5 Viper:

- The Viper and S7 are steel frames and Saleen is looking to use more aluminum like the GT.
- Using a tried and true engine; Ford supplied the 5.0L while Dodge supplies the V10.
- Keeping the racing roots, mostly LeMans style.
- Small scale design team via CATIA, Unigraphics... (who just did stress analysis of a front lower arm?)
- Carbon fiber body.
- For a sales volume of 500 per year, the current estimated price is $185,000
