most modern A/C systems(Viper included) have WOT(wide open throttle) cut-out, controller figures if you need to go that fast that quick you dont need the A/C robbing power. When engine revs/throttle input go lower it goes back on

It was hot as well in mid-year vetts[63-67] and it was also a lot of heat in a '67 427 Cobra, Get used to it and enjoy it.
