FYI: When using claybar on your car, be sure to first give yourself a good manicure. I clayed my car today for the first time and was going along great guns when I checked the clay after doing a portion of my hood, only to discover my finger nail had penetrated the clay and was puting nice swirly scratches on my paint. The good news is that, at least on that kind of scratch, Mothers California Gold scratch remover will, with repeated effort, adequately handle the damage.

Questions: how much pressure should be used when claying? And how do you use a clay bar to "pick up" impurities and isolate them... instead of rubbing them all over your paint as you continue the process?
