Should have done this a long time ago, I can't believe just how much is wrong/incomplete/missing. I really didn't look at anything that was 92-2008 because a very cool and intelligent person enter that information on the page. With the additional information that I've been able to review has put a finer point on some of the information on the IVR. This post is not an attempt to disparage anyone that previously grew, built and added information to the IVR. Without them, this data probably would exist at all and we appreciate and celebrate their efforts. Thank You Jay.
There is an underlying database for people to add their Vipers to the International Viper Registry. Most of that data is test data and there is only a small number of entries. There was some consideration to remove this all together, however, as it is part of history. It will stay and no modifications will be made to that area of the IVR. If you choose to enter data, it's won't be a bad thing. The IVR is being maintain in coordination with the "Viper Registry". Started at a different time under very different circumstances with a far different goal. There is currently 1750 Vipers with Registration numbers and 2923 RAM SRT-10 aka Viper Truck's with Registration numbers. The VR continues to add both Vipers and Viper trucks every week.
As both the IVR and VR enjoy the History of the Viper, there at some point needed to be some coordination of the data even though it will be presented differently. Over the past 13 years the VR provides build data based on verified data to those that want to know specifics. The IVR didn't have that ability. So whether looking at the IVR or VR, you can ask for those additional details. Some data may never be known as getting that data at this point has become difficult at best. One of the main questions is what # is my Viper. The IVR does not contain any MDH data, the VR does, however, not for all years.
For 2008 - 2017, the VR does have that info and can do #***/xxxx determinations. Other years, the best that can be done is VIN sequence, keep in mind, Viper are not (in most cases) built in VIN sequence and some VIN's are skipped entirely, messing that use of sequence unreliable. The IVR does not have the VIN's, the VR has 31,956 VIN's in it's database and can base the # of that way if the MDH's are not available.
As new owners have that quest for information, we will do our best to provide it, the information is all done free of charge.
Everyday I'm happy that the Viper Club of America has provided a place where the IVR and VR can work together to provide this information. It should be noted that all other sites and locations rely on our data whether it be from VCA Magazines, IVR site or VR Site to provide these details. Only the Viper Club of America has the ability to update and maintain correct information as we have the information and don't rely on others research to provide it
Thank You VCA
