June 2002 RoadTrip Itnerary

Im takin a cruise across country june 15-27. If anyone has any suggestions or points of interest (best beer-drinking places appreciated, LOL) please feel free to let me know, also would like to see some of your vipers, so if im close by, ill rendezvous, do some digital photos and post the whole d*mn trip here when i return.
Heres my driving route:

Start Youngstown Ohio>>KCMO>>OK City>>Amarillo Tx>>Roswell NM>>ElPaso Tx>>Tucson Az>>SanDiego Ca>>Los Angeles Ca (staying three days to hook up with old friends)>>Vegas>>Salt Lake City>>and then I80 back east to Youngstown Ohio (passing thru cheyenne Wy, Des Moines, etc) Hope to see some of the VCAs machines and to build an awesome photo album

Gee, if you are that close to the Pacific Northwest, COME ON UP !! At least to Portland. The OR Viper Club has a track day at Portland Int'l Raceway on June 21. JonB ([email protected]) can give you more details. The drive through Northen California is beautiful, even though it is on the concrete slab called Interstate 5.

There are a couple pubs in SFO that have 60+ beers on tap.

But "BAR-None" pun intended, the Pacif-NW is the best place to Beer-HOP. Pun intended again.

CASCADE HOPS are grown here, and micro-brews amd brew-pubs galore mean that a beer-meister an enjoy the NW as a brewer's heaven. Nearby hotels mean you can cabby, free light rail, or walk to many of them, and not have to drive. A NW pub that offers 25+ "real bears" charges a "Budweiser tax" of 50c if you actually order a Bud !

If you add Portland, Ill defininitley recommend 6/21, and give you a must-sample list of brews. I used to brew my own beer, but I got all caught up in my work and now just sample the pros.
