I tell people who ask about the "test tubes" that they are "lift indicators", when the front wheels come off the ground these "indicators" will reduce the gas flow till all 4 wheels are back on the ground. It was a safety feature that the Dept. of Transportation forced on Dodge.

And people actually believe me

I have had a few people convinced that they were filed with actual venom. I said it was a publicity stunt in the beginning, but Dodge did it for the first 3 years of production. I said that the pressure from PETA groups and the possibility of poising a pedestrian in an accident made them switch to colored water. But insist that I got these on E-Bay and they are really venom filed.
