Just another tire question

The time quickly approaches that I will have to replace my tires. Pilots are going to cost ~$1,200, I was wondering if anybody has used Dunlop SP Sport 8000. I can get these for around $850. I want to stay away from the Kumho's until I can find a place to put the 3-M plastic shield on my baby.

Any other tire suggestions? Are the Pilots worth the extra $$$? I'm not trying to be cheap I just don't want to spend more than I should and I would prefer NOT to buy a French product. (Lets not start that thread again-it is just my personal choice)

I do not drag race my car and have not been to the track yet but that is on my list of things to do.

Be careful about the Kumho's as an every day tire, they are nice for a road course or autocross, however, you would get tired of them on the street. They find every stone on the street. If you are on a street that has small stones or cinders it sounds like you are shot blasting the car.

I also have to respectively disagree about their worth when drag racing. They might be a good all around tire, however, they do not stick as well as the Nitto or BFG DOT tires. Boy, do they stick on the corners though.
