A friend of mine bought a mint 69 429 Boss Mustang back in the late 80s for low 40s on a sweet deal. In accordinance with the thinking of some i wonder if he would take less than he PAID -how could he expect to get nearly what he PAID IN THIS ECONOMY.

Incorrect. What you paid for it set the MARKET price. The Market price is now MUCH LOWER, as you are seeing.
This is how open markets work. Supply and demand determines price. Demand is much lower, so, so is the price.
You need to reset your expectations to be about $8k below what you paid if you really want to sell it.
It isn't like you are trying to sell a rare commodity.
Not sure that most buyers would want a car was raced. Especially when it is competing with new car prices. Knowing it was not garaged does not help either.

Point being last time i checked we live in America because i bought the car from an individual at a unbelieveable deal (she flat out needed the money overnight )where does it say i have to pass that savings along to whom i sell the car to.The car is WORTH what every other mint 08 out there with 1000 miles is worth regardless of what I paid for it.

You got it correct ALL of my Vipers have been abused at the track LOL.Since they have been abused so much i wonder if per say any high ranking officials of an organization like the Viper Club of America would dare own one of my old used Vipers .Keep on putting you foot in your mouth.Your commenting about things you truely know nothing about.

Though everyone has the right to his or her opinion you really should do your homework before commenting on things that you truely know nothing about.Just out of curosity did you ever find out exactly who bought my old ABUSED Gen 2 from me.?You really should as maybe you could reach out and inturn teach him a few things about what to look for regarding raced Vipers ect.
I am also glad that you think that EVERYONE out there in the VCA asking low 70s for an 08 with 1000 miles is asking an outrageous amount of money.By the way since your a current Viper owner iam sure you would not mind listing the serial number.

1BAD, I don't know if they still have it but there is a new venom red vert in the classifieds for $79K and change. The market for new seems to be weak now and that undoubtedly affects used. The price doesn't seem bad, but who knows what the market will bear right now. Good luck with selling it.

A friend of mine warned me against a used 08, saying the 08 black box shows if the car has ever been raced, and if so (even once) it possibly voids the warranty. Anyone care to comment on that?
Thank you John .I saw that particular add and thought if new was 79 i would ask 72800 and see if i got any calls..To put it in perspective 06 appear to be going very low miles in the low- mid 50s
I would assume that the black box could tell an individual how many times an engine has hit the rev limiter.If they voided everyones warranty for hitting the rev limiter in an 08 there would not be too many factory warrantys in existance.As far as on track racing there is a hugh difference between running the car down the quarter mile and running the car at the big track at Ponoco.

I don't understand why there is such a long discussion about this. You are trying to sell your car (actually you have been trying ever since you bought it), but nobody is interested at the price you are asking.
This is a free marketplace, so lower your price to move it or just get over the fact that no-one is willing to pay this price now.
