Thanks to Don Ruckman from WA for the tons of advice on how to do this. I would recommend anyone with a GEN I that doesn't have door handles do this installation. It is great, I just click on the unlock door button on my fob and the door magically opens for me, click on the trunk button and the passenger door opens. Pretty slick! All that for less than $50 in parts and a few hours of fun work.

Now when people ask "How do you get into that thing?", I can walk up to the car and say "Kitt, open driver's door." (while pressing the fob button in my pocket) and answer..."Just like that!"

Hey, that IS pretty slick! Where do I get the parts and info on how to do this? Sound's like fun!

Can the doors pop open unexpectedly with this setup?

I also just installed the door poppers on my '94 today. Just did the driver's side today, passenger's side on my next day off. Don Ruckman's cookbook instructions were very helpful. I think there were some minor differences in the solenoid mounting, since Don's Viper is a '96, but no real big problems. Wondering about the trunk???

Also did this on my '94 but with a twist.
Previously, I couldn't tell if the theft alarm was disabled or not, and would open the door and the alarm would go off - so I have this "thing" for wanting to know it really is off. So I configured mine using the trunk button to open the driver's door popper and when I disarm, the "unlock" button also pulses the parking lights. Cool, and many thanks to Don Ruckman.

I'll ask Don to post his cook book instructions. They were really helpful and he added my comments for the earlier model year car differences.

I like that idea of hooking up the parking lights to flash, I might do that too. I'd probably do it on both the setting of the security system on, and when it goes off.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the security system? I'd like to know which connectors are for what. I want to add a proximity sensor to mine too.
