Will a 315 fit a 17x13 rim? My research has me torn. What do you guys think?

I was told Kumho ecsta xs 315 would fit the rear and I have seen pics of them actually showing them to be wider than pilot sport 335s. Plus they are a lot cheaper.

The Kumho 335/35/17 is a “narrow” tyre, compared with PS2 of the same dimensions fitted on a 17” x 13" rims. I will post some pics to see the amount of “ring” the wheel has on both sides.

Other than appearances, the rubber is superb. It is a track tire with road-legal tread. If you opt for the hard compound, make sure the tire is warm before applying full power. It also wears relatively well, (1mm per 1000 miles of street driving).

Lots of cheap 315's out there. So what is the verdict on the 17x13 rim?

Not to mention $95 fronts.

Like a set of tires for a Viper for $500? I think the thinking is clear here.

The answer is yes, they will mount and work on the stock 17's, both GEN1 and GEN2. I did Toyo R888's in the 3 spoke's and 5 spokes. It looks better on the 3 spokes, flush on the outer rim. On the 5 spokes they will have a gap in the outer bead, but still work. The main purpose for the 315's is for track use so the look didn't matter.

Mine perform great. However, the gap between the outer bead and the tire doesnt look great. I just bought them to hold me over until I get my new wheels which will require new tires. I just didnt want to spend $2k on Pilot Sports if I wont be using them long.
