Caught up with Larry in one of his most recent 800+ HP Vipers. He was putting break in miles on the car for one of his clients. Yes I was driving a Chevy, its a daily ****** for me with 400 HP, I smoked him from a roll in 2nd gear, it was bad. All I saw was Yellaw in my rear view mirror. I guess it is true what they say about those Yellow Vipers, they're just a little slower than the rest. I did everything possible to get him to run me, but he stuck to his principles, he doesn't race client's cars, he just builds them. Hey larry when the engine is broken in, let you client know I'll give him another shot at the small block Chevy, HeHe!

About 7 years ago I beat a Viper like it was standing still in my stock '83 Buick Riviera. Yippee for me! I passed him going 5 MPH because the Viper was standing still (and so were the 80+ cars ahead of him in his lane of traffic).

Maybe Larry was just being responsible to his customer's car and didn't want to break it before the engine was broken in. Your bragging about your small block Chevy reminds me of my first paragraph.

Also see thread about street racing.

Seems a little harsh! I believe he was kidding and does not think his chevy is faster. But does believe yellow cars are slower but we already knew that. :D

Try explaining to a customer why his/her car ended up in a guardrail or around a tree... Racing someone elses cars = NOT GOOD. (I guess you could tell them as they were pulling the car onto a flatbed - "But I SMOKED that camaro !). Larry: I don't know who's car you had, but thanks for not running it. John: I bet it fun messing with him ! Great post.

Sun Ra Kat, my first and true love has and will always be Mopar, however since MOPAR has not made a real muscle car since the last Cuda or Challenger RT rolled off the line in 1974, I have had to resort to Fords and Chevys. I consider the Viper more of a Super car than Muscle, as it will do a little bit of everything well. This post was just a fun poke at Larry, we had lunch and then I had the opportunity to see how strong his will was, and it is strong, most guys would have nailed that 800 hp Viper, especially with the way I taunted him. I have seen and heard a lot of the cars that Larry has built, this latest one sounds different it sounds great, I can't wait to see what kind of numbers it puts down. Also, My Z28 has Larry's heads on it and he did the tuning, that's why it runs so hard. It would give any stock Viper a run for its money in the 1/4 mile.

Quit poking fun of Larry....Bassturd

Cudaman :usa:

Hey, I recall that Chevy taking the Cudaman down one time at Bradenton also, just cause you only had one halfshaft, thats not important your 10.03 Viper should be able to run at least a 12.00 on one halfshaft..

I also remember taking out quite a few Camero's and other F bodys in Bradenton at the Viper, Vette, F Body shoot out with a silver Z \28( first time I ever raced it) and taking second over (even with a broken torsion bar) all others except one that aprox 80-100 more hp than I did .... But I do believe today with that same Z \28 I could take that one out and take first.

Larry recently did a motor build, blower and nos installation for me. He did the break in miles before tuning and from what I can tell took good care of the car. There was however one embarrassing feature to his driving my car. After receiving the car and cleaning under the seats I found a matchbook from an Orlando ******* bar with Larry's cell phone number in it. I thought that to be quite strange. I know Wendy never reads this forum so I feel there is no risk in relating information. :usa:

I know you were poking fun at Larry, but I have no mercy being stuck in my Yellow foot and lower leg cast for at least the next three weeks and not being able to drive my Viper. I am grouchy, touchy, and ready to jump on anyone who is able to have fun Vipering. And you were just there. So beware.

Well, I am supposse to be comming to oralndo to get my car on Friday. I'll bring up my new toy up and have to get me some snake meat for the the grill. Who wants to be first Cudaman, Fuelman or macedo? Looks like sahppire skin for my boots also. Fill your tanks boys.

FYI, this new toy cost me a $80,000 pool, all new furniture in the house and several trips and cruises including the inlaws.

I like the color ....not flashy ...tasteful. Sorry to hear about the pool and furniture.... you can drive 1/2 the state and come to my house for a swim and I will even let you get comfortable in a chair after. I do want a ride!
