Left Door Hinge Broken

Sunday I decided to take the viper out for a wash and a cruise.After washing the car I went to open the drivers side door when I heard a huge crack sound,my heart stopped thinking at first I left something between the door and hood and cracked my door in half! I then took the panel in front of the door off and saw the huge spring on the hinge cracked in half. I ordered A new hinge today and should have it fixed soon. Anybody ever have this happen to them?

No, but those springs need to be lubricated fairly often. Both of mine have let out horrible grinding noises before I lubed them. They won't take much grinding before they give.
