Hi

I need the part number for the OEM limited slip or any low cost aftermarket unit.

car is 2008 Viper SRT-10 Coupe

the OEM unit I have has this number on it 00410480 but it's doesn't seem to be the part number as it isn't showing when searching OEM parts vendors websites.

please advice.

Thank you

You might find a take out unit for 1/2 or so. We have done a few dozen Quaife or Giken installs, but the customer generally gets the old with the new. I have 2 complete "core" diffs (case and all) out of Gen3 cars for $850 if you can't find anything else. I think I have a new Gen3 takeout diff only, but it would be less effective then the Gen4 one you would be replacing.

I looked on eBay and google, nothing much comes up.

The car has a broken diff and we need to replace it.

I got this unit from Randy's which was listed for all Viper models: Dana 44-HD (HD & Dana 44IRS) TracLoc for Corvette complete positraction.
But it was smaller than the OEM.

which generation is the 2008?

sorry I am not a Dodge guy, and this is not my car.

thank you

The 08-2010 Vipers are Gen4 cars, they use a Hydrolock differential that uses a fluid pump to actuate that is why they cost more plus they are stronger then the Vette offerings. You will need a direct replacement or a complete Gen3 unit to get it going, but like I said that would be a compromise situation. You could go aftermarket and get a Quaife or Giken and never have a diff problem again, but the cost is high, $2800-$4300 exchange cost.

an online Dodge Parts dealer just informed that the part number for my vin# is 5038307AE and it's discontinued.

So, can I just install a 3rd generation diff assembly? or would just the diff unit from a 3rd generation fit?

thank you

I don't think the case is different since the part number for the Gen3 cars supersedes to the Gen4 differential so the Gen3 part number should drop in if you wish to go that route.

I surely want to bolt up everything together and just drive it off.

I can get you measurements and pics to compare.

please let me know.

and btw what unit did Randy's sent me? I assumed it was for the 3rd generation? but the box says Vette only?

thank you

Don't know what you have there sorry, I can provide you with a used Gen3 diff, but there are different part numbers for bearings half shafts etc from Gen3 to Gen4 so you would want to swap the entire assembly to be sure.

the car is in Saudi Arabia.

I can direct ship from here to Saudi Arabia if you want, I sell stuff in the region all the time, we use BAX Global and the rates are decent if it just ships to the airport.

If you email me [email protected] the exact address I can get a shipping quote direct for you or you can add $75 to the above pricing shipped to FL.
