I can remember a while back a thread on low dust brake pads, I think they were EBC brand maybe. I'm looking for info on low dust pads for my BMW 540i Sport - it has horrific brake dust issues. Of course if they work well on the bimmer I'd be looking to move to them on the viper down the line too.

Any info, leads, experiences, contact info, etc would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dave.

You may want to check out the archives of this board, but I was told that Bendix are good. They can be bought at your local parts store.

Here are the #'s for the Viper

Bendix

Fronts- # 592
Rears- # D491

Claimed pluses of the EBC pads: No dust, more linear braking feel (better stopping power), no squealing, less expensive (about $150/set of front & rears).
Minuses: Wear a little faster than stock, probably about 80% of life of stock pads.

I just installed a set of EBC green pads on the front of my 2001 GTS. I immediately noticed they were quieter -- no squeal at all. (My stock pads squealed worse than Ned Beatty in Deliverance). And I also noticed an improved pedal feel. I can't comment on the no dust claim, since I've only put 50 miles or so on them. But I expect them to perform as claimed.

The EBC pads are sold by Kingman Hitz (WingKing -- a well-respected member of the Viper community) and can be found at http://www.greatbrakes.com

Thanks for the kind words, Ron. The performance of these pads is starting to develop a reputation. The end of next week we should be making a MAJOR announcement about EBC brakes. Hate to keep y'all in suspense, but stay tuned!

I have put the EBC pads on two cars now and what a difference. We finally have a brake pad that does what it says it does. Way to go Kingman, or is it Wingking, or should we now call him the brakeking...he he he

Thanks All.

I'll keep watching for the announcement, but it looks like these (EBC) are worth the try.
