Hi all,
Looking for a cosmetically damaged Gen V. If anyone has a lead on one please me know. Color and model are not important.

Im not sure what youre planning, but with the newness and
rarity of the GenVs you are going to have a TOUGH time finding
a damaged car beyond the value of repair that will be worth
anything (even in parts.) Right now at $100k+ retail prices
even basket cases are still worth money...

My guess is he might be looking for a car that had some cosmetic damage done to it, insurance wrote a big check, and the seller wants to sell it for a good price and still come out ahead.

Steve kind of unusual with the Gen V's, by now I thought I'd see 2 or 3 on the salvage sites, haven't seen any. Have seen a couple of C7's. Good luck Mike

Arent we all...

Im only saying that its still too soon - it would have to be a
severe wreck for insurance to right off a GenV right now. Even
on the low side (50%) youre talking $60,000+ in damage to
cover. Thats gonna be a bit more than cosmetic.

If youre looking for a race car for this season I wouldnt
wait for that golden egg - if you *need* a car for next
spring I would look at the Gen3s and give the GenVs another
year or two to depreciate. Just my two cents...

I'll bet we see some that are in the $70k range with minor damage before too long. With the cost of a good paint repair job easily hitting $10k on the striped cars, and the parts/labor costs to repair or replace the CF hood, a relatively minor accident can turn into $30k check pretty quick. Most owners of these cars won't want to keep it with a Carfax ding on it, so taking the check, and selling for $60-70k isn't totally out of the question.

Hoods are only $3k now, so I don't think it will be that bad. I think the roof will be pricy to replace

Actually those $3000.00 hoods are all gone. There is a new part number and they are $10K. There was a mistake on several Gen V parts with regards to prices. Some smart individuals bought the mispriced items up...

I concur. This is just the scenario I am waiting for.

If anyone knows the poor guy that damaged is car at the strip, let him know that I have brand new take off body panels and other parts as well as new GTS hoods if he needs some parts at less than OEM prices...
