I am looking for a track tire for the stock-sized 19 inch rim on my 06 coupe. I need a sticky rear tire and I'm not willing to sabatoge my parking brake in order to make way for an 18" rim. The stickiest tire I can find are the Hoosiers. I want some feedback on these tires. I intend to use them at the 1/4 mile track and at a few autocross events. I want to know how long they last and how well they hook for you based on your modifications. I also want to know if you changed anything in the suspension or drivetrain in order to handle the additional stress of the better traction.

***I am aware that there is another thread that somewhat covers the hoosiers, but it only mentions the A6, I am also looking for information on the R6 as well as supporting suspension or drivetrain modifications.***

Thanks

The R6 is supposedly just as good as the A6. It just takes a little bit more time for the R6 to warm up and it will last a few more heat cycles.

You don't have to sabotage your E-brake, just relocate it slightly to run 18's on the rear and the tire choices are much, much greater. Tire prices are lower too. E-brake relocation kit is $150 from Dave's Viper Parts.

Car sits lower, as it should, appearance, handlling and braking are better (no stink bug look). The comp coupes come with 18's all around.

Very easy mod, E-brake still works perfectly. Dodge should have mounted it this way from the factory.

I run the 19" A6 tires on the rear. I haven't tracked the Viper but plan to do so this spring.

I have used the tires on the street for almost a year. Not one problem and I drive it in the rain and as long as I drive careful everything is fine.

A great very sticky tire. The best I can do on the street is 6000 miles and I am sure if you track the Viper a lot with the A6- much less mileage. I do plan to try the R6.
