What's the matter with them? Are they slowing down or moving at all? If there are slowing down, the lube in there dries up and you need to open up the door and lube them before you take out a $495 motor & regulator!!:omg: Or it could be the switch and or the door wiring?

96-02 window motor/regulator:
Right #4763282 MSRP $495.00
Left #4763283 MSRP $495.00
Window switch #4685434 MSRP $27.35 each
Less 20% VCA discount.

If you need help, give me a call!

Its amazing I never see Gen 1 guys with window problems :D But hey for you guys who want all the technological advances like...windows...I hope you enjoy your Vette...I mean Gen 2 :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Gen2's come with all kinds of technology Chad.

For instance, round rubber tires. Not those Flintstone rock tires like the Gen1's bash around with.

And speaking of the Flintstones, that's why the Gen1 cars have no roof. So you can get your pet dinosaur in.

And speaking of dinosaurs, have you upgraded to the 4000 BC Hootersaur?

Kevin,
You can upgrade your status to Viper owner on this site by giving you information to the moderators-nobody else will see it except them. PM either kcobean or Lee00blacksilverGTS and they can help you with that.

You can also join the VCA -look in the new owner questions about renewals online.

It could also be the IP-to-Door wirng harness....a common problem as the miles add up.

Every time you open/close the door, the harness and sheath KINKS and over time the wires begin to crack (slow motors) and break (motor stops) other symptoms include speakers intermittant or quit, door latch intermittant problems, alarm issues and batteries drain. As Chuck sez: IT MAY NOT BE THE REGULATOR AT ALL

Oh wizard say it's not so. As of two weeks ago my drivers side won't go up anymore but you can hear the motor running. I did a search and saw some posts saying it is probably the string end that broke and I might be able to repair it. Please don't tell me I need to buy the whole unit. :(

Window lube silly!

Actually, I would think a high viscosity synthetic would work. You want water resistance which the synthetic will give, and you want it to stay put, like the high viscosity will give.

Wheel bearing grease may work. Make sure to get synthetic.

Use a little. I'm sure it goes a long way.

Clean the old lube off if it exists anymore with some citrus cleaner before applying the new stuff.

While you've got it all apart replace the door speakers too.

Get new tires and bolt on a blower and you won't care about the windows anymore.
