So other then some motons what steps have you guys gone through to lower your srt-10 viper? I don't care about improving handling I just want to lower the car about an inch to make the wheels look real nice. :D has anyone does the parts rack lowering kit? and if so do you have to do the alignment again after it? Anyone try the new aldan springs? Motons are too expensive at 4k and KW's aren't much better at 3k

there is a post on this subject earlier this week and I believe, but do not quote me, that John at the Parts Rack has a very simple and cheap way to lower the car through the mounting of the shocks. As far as alignment, yes, you always have to realign the car after any change in ride height ect.

I really should have used the search button and payed attention to when the thread was started. I thought it was an old thread. Anyways has anyne actually tried this mod?? I wanted to lower my car 1" in the front 1 & 1/8th of an inch in the back. Thats what Brian E has his car lowered and it looked perfect! Just looking for the cheapest reliable way of doing it.

From what i recall reading parts rack sold some kit that people had problems with. I think it was manny car.

If someone can chime in and give an update.

Ricky, LOTS of us are waiting on a solution to lower the SRT without spending $1K per corner to do so. Bill P. at Woodhouse said something about a spring cap setup. I'm just waiting for someone else to install it and call it worthy.

The only other setup that I've seen that lowers the SRT well and for a reasonable price is the Eibachs. 'TheWB' has them on his red SRT if Im not mistaken, and it looks LOW.

Austin any idea on if it has just Eibach springs with the stock coilovers?? I was thinking maybe the Aldan coilovers with eibach springs might work  That white that you posted Austin looks SICK

Ricky, the story is still the same. If you want to lower the car properly, you have to pay to play! Eibachs will break your stock shocks, and Aldans will break themselves. Hennnessey's setup is the least expensive alternative to Motons.

C'mon Ricky use the search function. You will then see that you can not safely use a lowering spring on the O.E.M. coilovers and keep them from blowing out. This topic has been beat to death on this forum. In my opinion lowering caps are also a waste of time and money. I think they can lower the ride a half inch.
The SRT crowd has only (3) realistic choices. Moton, KW or Aldans. I had the Aldans. The last set that ended up on my car were satisfactory, but I would NEVER track the car with them. I did hear that Aldan has a new setup for the SRT coming out. Give Robert a call and I am sure he would be glad to discuss the issue with you. 1-310-834-7478.
For what it is worth, I would go with the KW's. They have a proven track record and I have heard their customer service is great.

Skip, you gotta chime in here. :D

BC and Brian E both always trying to get me to spend money I haven't even made yet :p . I guess I'll start saving my pennys for the KW's unless I can get the Motons for about the same price. 3k for KW's 3500 for motons is what I'm hearing. Skip also said he will have something coming out but has never wrote back to tell me about any updates :( .

Ricky, the white SRT I posted is using the Motons, not Eibachs. This red SRT IS using the Eibachs.

Motons are shocks. You need some type of springs to go with them and Eibach is commonly used as the choice of spring.

I dont remember 100%, but I dont think the red SRT is using Motons. I wish 'TheWB' would chime in, as its his SRT in the picture I posted. Either way, I think the Motons would be the BEST way to go if you can afford to fork over the bag of money it takes to purchase them. :smirk:

BTW, Im glad you chimed in, as Im NOT a suspension expert and am just posting info I've read/heard from previous posts and my buddy. :p

Hey Ricky, you might want to try the lower spring caps
from Parts Rack, about $250 I think. I have been quoted
Motons with springs for anywhere from $3400 to $3600.
I was going to go with the spring caps but decided to wait
and do the full up Motons. Good luck.

Doug Levin, from Motorsports in Miami has a adjustable shock with springs/installed for $2,500. He claims if you do not road race, there great.
Tell him Irwin sent you.
