lowering , will it hurt 1/4 mile times ?

Want to lower my car slightly. What options do I have and will it hurt my 1/4 mile times because of less weight transfer ?

I heard the eibachs are pretty bad for 1/4 mile. I cut my coils hoping to get better 60' results than others. I haven't had time to get to the track yet. 2 coils off front, 1 coil off back. Dropped my car 1.5" Scrapes on EVERYTHING, but very cool.

I'd like to do the same for my '95, but the 19" VR1s will rub BIGTIME and maybe even crack the fender if I hit a big enough bump. The VR1s with 345s stick out 1/8"

if you go less than an inch, it will be fine. You will still have enough suspension travel to hook up at the track.

eibachs have a 1/3" for front and 1" in back. I will be installing mine in a couple of weeks. I will track test in march.

I also think that Snake Oyl, has the lowering spring caps or something that are supposed to lower a half inch or so. Just another route to investigate if you wanted to lower and not go a whole inch.

Looking at from other angle:
I cannot see how you could BENEFIT from lowering the car.
Therefore your gain is zero, status quo or even adding a tenth or so.
If your aim is at 1/4 mile, I would not do it.

I did it on mine, looks great, but I'm a poser....

Which car are you thinking about doing it to? The ACR you can change any amount without buying anything. I did 1/2" 3/4" and 1 ". It's now back to a little lower than stock. It looked best at an inch but the scraping will get on your nerves. I think 3/4 inch were best results on the track (that wasn't necessarily due to ride height more than experience at that point and conditions).

Lowering caps or perches are made by Northwest Engineering. They lower the car 1/2".

Lowered 2.25 front, 2" rear. Best 60ft, 1.39, consistant 1.42-1.44's. I got these springs from one of the Oreca race teams four years ago. I have eibachs on my silver '98 and don't like them, too stiff..

The Eibach are progressive and will not hur your 60foot. I'm using them and do regular hit 1.45 60 footers.
