It was really all pretty straightforward. I looked at the how-to section here as I remembered there was a writeup of someone installing the same headers on a gen 3 with some pictures. I didn't have a lift, but just jacked up one side of the car at a time and put it on ramps (couldn't drive it on as the ramps weren't shallow enough, but could slide them under after the car was up).
An extra hand helps to pull the old cats and muffler off as it's a pretty heavy assembly all together, but it's doable solo without too much fuss. I'd just advise to remove the band clamp on the factory manifold to the cat before removing the exhaust hanger bolts. Easier to break that band loose without the extra weight on it from sagging parts.
I took the advice of the how-to and removed the valve covers for extra clearance. Found out pretty much all my lower valve cover bolts were loose as well, so may have done myself a favor there anyway.
I did have to jack up my engine on the passenger side as I just couldn't quite sneak the factory manifold between the rail and the engine, but it wasn't too big a deal. Just loosened the one big nut on the motor mount and put a little pressure on the oil pan with a jack and a block. I also jacked it up to get the front section of the passenger side header in as I was having similar clearance issues, but realized after the fact that if I would have left the rear two pipe section completely loose (not even bolted to the engine at all), I probably would have had more than enough room. I only loosely bolted it on because my factory gaskets were coming apart (multi layer stainless that are spot welded together, but spot welds had let go over time and layers were separating). A new set of gaskets would have fixed this, but I did it over the Christmas holiday and needed it back together by Monday to drive to work, so didn't have time to get new gaskets from a dealer.
