Macedo Motorsports built my car last fall. As part of the engine build, Federal Mogul lifters were installed. After less than 1500 miles one of the lifters began making significant noise. After talking to Larry it was concluded that the lifter itself was likely defective. Here's where the story gets good.
Larry had my car towed to 21st Century Muscle Cars in Dallas owned by John Page. Lots of killer TT LPE Corvettes come out of this shop. Thanks to John for the use of his shop. Larry then loads a truck up with tools, parts, and supplies and drives 1200 miles (20 hours drive time) with a friend from Orlando to Dallas to replace the lifters himself. Arrived Thursday evening and worked Friday and most of Saturday on the car. He did indeed find a bad lifter and replaced the entire set along with new head bolts gaskets and fluids. Even got an oil change out of the deal. I did get a chance to see first hand how careful and precise Larry is when working on Vipers. No corners were cut and no expense was spared. The car has never run better. I put 200 miles on it yesterday right after it was completed. Thanks M2 for uncompromised customer service.
They left Dallas at 4pm yesterday so are still on the road as this post is entered. Have a safe trip guys.
The picture is offered as evidence to Wendy that Larry did indeed travel to Dallas to work on a Viper. As far as I know they went straight to bed each evening after a light snack.
