Anything to note when removing the manifold? I'm thinking of pulling mine off for polishing over the winter. Seems like a straightforward removal.

the second from end bolts, put a small magnet on a screwdriver, put an 11mm socket on as well, put it through the gap, and put a 1/4 drive extension down from the top into the socket, use the magnets to take everything back out.
The 2 end bolts, i tucked my hand round the back with an adjustable ring spanner,

Everything else was quite straight forward

Removing the intake manifold is not too too bad, except that some of the inner/lower bolts will require a strong torx bit to remove. I broke a few of the cheapo Harbor Freight ones, and had to purchase a strong 1/4" ratchet driven type. You won't be able to fit an open wrench/spanner, or a socket. Those inner/lower bolts are hugging the intake runners. You will have to access them through top, between each opposite bank's runner. I reused my old OEM bolts, but some folks have upgraded to a different style that facilitate the removal and installation. The valve cover and intake manifold bolts are the same. Ohh, and don't forget about the CCV vacuum lines under the manifold.

The pic below shows a nicer looking/functional bolts used on the valve covers. Image shameless copied from Atppilot's thread:

I never used any Torx, used an 11m socket 1/4 drive with extensions and a ring spanner for them all, some of my Torx bolts were F****ed, it was much easier and cleaner
