I can't believe what happened tonight. Mario Andretti, the legend that I admired since I was a kid, actually sat in my car, signed my car, my helmet, a cap, a picture, and 6-8 bottles out of the case of his wine that I bought.
The guy was everything that I hoped he would be; kind, gracious, generous with his time, and never said a peep to any request. Yeah, I know he was pushing his wine, but who cares? I would have bought it even if it tasted like sh*t, just because his name was on it. But the wine was great! I recommend the Cabernet. It's as though he felt as honored to be there as I was to meet him. He had a personality, joked around, and couldn't have been nicer.
A night I'll never forget. Thanks Dan for setting it up. The dinner was great afterwards at whatever the restaurant was. I don't even remember the name I was so hungry.
And Dan, you definitely have the most impressive liquor store that I have ever been in.
