Offered is a massive 579-item Viper collection, collected over 23 years. Before my daily-driver Viper, I had other unique and rather rare cars, including the first 1967 Porsche 912 Targa in the US, a 1979 deTomasso Mangusta, and a 1987 Porsche 928. As a Navy, and then an airline pilot traveling around the world, I occupied shopping time by watching for miniature cars and models that matched my current ride. Over the 10ish years I'd have the car, with lots of searching and watching, I'd find 5-10 miniatures and models of my car. These were fun for the den shelf, and I'd give them to the person to whom I sold the car.
So when I bought a red 1994 Viper RT/10 in 1996, I continued in the same habit pattern. But now there was eBay! Or maybe there are just more miniatures, models, magazines, and stuff for the Viper. It's probably both.
My challenge was to obtain one of every miniature, model, brochure and magazine cover ever produced on red/gray Gen 1 Vipers. It seemed possible, and a fun goal - and I’ve come close. But now it is time to sell my Viper collection.
My Viper collection is 579 items. It has 9 pieces of art, 17 books, 70 brochures and sales materials, 7 cards, 39 model cars, 19 clothes items, 5 decals, 30 accessories, 19 items of jewelry, 71 magazines, 13 manuals, 40 unassembled models, 15 posters, 3 software games, 4 videos, 28 cups/clocks, and 174 other Viper collectibles that are not red/gray Gen 1 Vipers. I want to sell the collection intact since it has been carefully packed and stored. Asking price is $5,000, but I will entertain higher offers for 30 days. If you are interested email me at [email protected]. The collection is in San Diego, CA.
