May 25th : VIPER DRAG RACING: Mopar Southern Nationals Annual Viper Shoot out!!!!!!!
Silver dollar drag way Reynolds GA ( near Macon) http://www.northgeorgiamoparclub.com/

Caravan from the Varsity on spring street @ 9 am Saturday 5/25 . This is your time to see what your car can really do! Dyno boys come show us what you got!!!! There will be bracket elimination's both Saturday & Sunday but the Viper Shootout is sat. 5/25 . As last year it will be a money race!!! Last year the Trophy & cash went to Rookie Gene Ellis who shut down all challenges. Don't be afraid! your viper will hit the 12's without punishing the car or the driver. Like anything practice makes perfect & judging from all the STREET RACING smac I have been hearing lately, here is the real & safe way to explore your car. There will be a Drag Racing 101 class again so there is no excuse for not running your Viper ( or any other MOPAR for that matter) Contact Pete Mansolillo or Dr Jim Green for more Info.

We had a small but enthusiastic turn out, 7 Vipers showed, all from Ga. Track temp was over 110, & it was a little slick. In fact , 2 cars showed with DOT race tires & showed little improvement over the stock pilots. My pure stock 97 GTS set low et with a tire spinning 12.3 @ 118.9, Eric Jordan had the fastest Gen 1 with a 12.6.Et . Dr Jimmy Green & Eric both red lighted in eliminations handing over the victory to both finalists, Pete Mansolillo & Ryan Rouleau. Ryan dialed in @ 12.9 & I kept my 12.3 dial. Ryan cut a good light & I had just caught him by the 1000' mark & had to lay on the brakes to stop from breaking out with a 12.38 @110.
They had a huge spectator turnout & ran us as saturdays feature with eliminations around 2:30 We ran back to back until we were done. The crowd loved it & so did we. We had 16 Vipers sign up but I guess the holiday swallowed up the rest. We have something special planned for next year, like a $1000 purse & separate heads up classes. Stay Tuned..................
Pete
