maybe buying an 01 gts question

Oh no been bit by the viper bug again. I was looking at a yellow
with black stripe gts 01.Are there any issues with the 01 year.
I had a 95 yellow rt 10 and still have a 97 red w/white stripe gts
O1 gts is like new 5000 miles clean no wrecks

Some bad waterpump manufacturing issues in some 01s. Besides that, my car has been trouble free. I had my waterpump replaced after some overheating problems but I think the 01s are prety solid. They do have cast pistons so when going high HP in mods you may have some problems.

01's are fine. I had a solid yellow 01 GTS and I am waiting TODAY for my 01 Yellow/Black stripes GTS ACR from FL. Just to give you an idea, I bought this one with 1700 miles for $60K from a dealer. You should be able to do A LOT better with 5K and no ACR.

In the used market ACR's are not worth more than the GTS. I'm speaking from current prices, it seems ACR is harder to sell.

I don't know where you've been looking, but ACR's are MORE than the GTS's. I found several 01 and 02 GTS for $50K-$58K. ACR's are more like $64K-$70K.

I know some say the exact thing you said, but ACR's are still rare.

Have had no problems with my '01 - flushed the cooling system twice so far and no water pump problems here, although have heard that some have had trouble just as Sapphire mentioned above.

Yeah, after dealing for a couple of days. The dealer wanted $67,900. ACR's aren't harded to sell, there are fewer of them out there .

Probably worth 49 to a dealer,sell for 54.If acr add 3.Also add 25-50% of the cost of any mods.If I were buying I would start at 50 which give them a 1 grand mark-up.LIke I said I would buy at those prices but I would NEVER sell my car at those prices.BTW I paid 60 for mine brand new. Bruce

all thise toll booths were supposed to be nixed decades ago, too. and didn't you really appreciate the quality of the roads here that all those tolls are paying for?

My '01 has been perfect - about $15K miles now and no problems of any kind. I've had 5 Vipers and this is the best (even better than the SRT-10)

There's a new one still on the showroom floor here in Mo. I saw it there 2 years ago and it was still there a month ago.

Yep Ditto. 2001 bought new from Bill P. AutoX and track and part time daily driver. No real problems. 10k miles. Only problem so far was that little wire connector for the heater that slipped off..bent and fixed. Not a biggie here in NW Florida. Good luck.

The roads are a bit rough in places, but have seen worse. Glenview is nice little burb, though. Problem with those toll booths is the time wasted while waiting in line or when ya don't have change. A real hassle IMHO.
