A couple of weeks ago (been meaning to post this) I went to the Olathe, KS Chevy dealership to take a look at the new C6. I pulled up to see a bright orange c6 (I was impressed...Good looking car). I decided the best comparison would be if I parked my Viper right next to the C6. Then the funny part happened. Customers, sales men & women, and mechanics swarm over to my 12 year old car passing up a brand new C6 in a bright orange color. I couldn't stop answering questions about my car from Mob of people. I tried to talk to a sales man about the C6 and got cut off by questions concerning my Viper. Finally after the mob subsided I started talking to a sales man (who obviously wanted to sell me the car) about the C6. In which another sales man interrupted are conversation and said..... "I would keep the Viper" LOL:). That’s right a CHEVY sales man said he would keep the 12 year old Viper over a brand new Vet.

I love taking my 94 to places like that...it's like a refresh. The thing is 11 years old and yet...it still looks better than 2004 engineering and design...gotta love that.

The Viper is a legend in its own time. No truer is that statement than with this car. Statements like that and "instant classic" get overused sometimes, but with the Gen I & II cars I believe it is very true.

My daily driver is a heavily modified Boxster which gets a lot of attention but my RT10 gets much more attention. I can't go to the store without people stopping to look at the car.

Great experience! It is a tribute to our original Team Viper folks that our
Gen I cars still get so much attention! It has only taken GM 13 years to approach the excellent Gen I Vipers that many of us own.
I also like the C-6 and am looking forward to the new ZO6. I am happy to see it.
Compitition is everything!

Something about the Viper, that just makes it much more appealing than a Corvette. I like the new C6, but would happily take a Viper of any year over it to own.

Corvettes are like Mustangs or Camaros. Everyone has one. But Vipers are.....well, they're different. Different in a way thats intoxicating to someone who sees one. Even now, after buying my first one, I still stare when I see one on the road. And I go into my garage at 3am just to look at mine.

There's is something about that car that's timeless. Looking at a 10 year old RT10 you would never know it was that old. The styling is timeless and classic. It's also brutally aggressive. IMHO Vette's don't come close, not even the new C6.

Those stories are great! lol

At least when you bring your Viper to the dealership to check out the Vette, they know they can´t B.S. you with the ¨you haven´t ever experienced something with this much power etc¨ lol!

Awesome! I just love my GTS. Such a crowd pleaser and I love sharing it with people who appreciate it. I've allowed quite a few people to drive it (brothers & close buddies) and they just LOVE IT. I think we could all charge for rides and cover the gas expense. I don't care for the c6 much after someone on this forum referred to it as a 'smiley face'. I just can't get that out of my mind when I see a yellow one. The new Z is another story. I am on the waiting list for one, and would love to park it next to the Viper for more driving fun. I had my 02 z06 @ the same time as my Viper. The Viper is much more fun to drive, but the Z06 is a bit easier to park @ work without trying to show off, and drive around town, given crappy roads.

After 3 years of ownership I still look at the car every day and say, 'damn, that's bad asp...". There is something so ALIVE about that shape, so animalistic. You would swear the car is a living, breathing creature.

What I also find funny is the rare opportunity I pass one on the road, I scream, "Look, VIPER, VIPER!!" to my passenger. And there like, "Hey dumb asp, you own one". It's funny how excited you get seeing when on the road, even though you see it every day.
