Yeah at +/- $800,000.00 a copy plus the likelihood of a mark-up similar to that of the Ferrari Enzo which is MSRP 2X -- that's a cool 1.5 MILLION or so. Where do we sign-up for one. Can't deny that the ME412 is one awesome car though...

About 40 years ago (when I was a kid) I saw my first AC Cobra and I said to myself "someday I am going to own a car like that." Two years ago I fulfilled that dream and got my Viper. Now I have a flashback dream... I want one of those! Just hope it doesn't take another 40 years.

I know they are taking deposits at Woodhouse, and I am sure most of our viper club Friendly dealers can do the same. Projected price, $300,000-350,000.

If they do it look for 2006 or 2007 to start production.

Still, the ME412 probably will not sell anywhere near sticker if/when it goes into production.

It's certainly going to be a great supercar, but for a point of reference the Venom 650R ran 0 - 60 mph: 2.99 sec. 1/4 mile: 10.76 @ 132 mph on stock tires, and 0 - 60 mph: 2.67 sec.
1/4 mile: 10.44 @ 133.5 mph with street legal drag radials in recent Motor Trend testing.

Unfortunately, I see more Mercedes than Chrysler in the new Crossfire, 300C, and ME412.
And I wish that D/C would have simply bolted a pair of turbos and intercoolers from the SL600 onto the Viper to create a more exotic supercar out of the SRT-10 (with 750HP+) giving the Enzo, and Porsche CGT, not to mention the SLR, a run for their money.

I agree with Snakester. The SRT is a fantastic basis for a even higher performance supercar.
Think when the Street Coupe is announced, the performance level could be significantly higher.
Then when everyone least expects it they could release a SUPER MAMBA with out of this world performance.

Thats an incrdedible car- What else can be said? Its an over the top, ballz to the wall, no holds barred, gut wrenching, eye ball popping, King of the Hill super exotic. They set their sights sky-high when they set out to design that car.And it will STOMP an Enzo! Whoo-Hoo!

Which makes me think, you know, about what a great value the Viper is in the realm of sports cars. Its one of the top players in the world, performance-wise, but at the lower end of the price spectrum. Power in the hands of the people!!!

Jerry, I don't know what Woodhouse is taking, but I know he has some deposits already. Whatever it is I know I am not in a position to buy one, so may as well go to those that can! I hope you get one. I will keep you posted on what else I find out.

I will say that there is a 90% chance they do this car. If wolfgang would have styed I would have made those odds 100%.
