Oh yes the Big Brakes puke can does fix the cap from coming off. And does not puke the fluid on the engine if it does puke.

On your wires you do shield them if I understand you correctly, so that may be your success. The stock metal shields are indeed that, a heat shield. As I was told by Jon I needed neither the stock metal shield or ceramic sleeves, I went bare. I have no idea what Jon will tell the next guy, but I know he is aware of this issue that I had.

I'm just trying to get an answer now on the ceramic sleeves, as some have said they will ride up the wires contrary to gravity. All my answers at this point have been advertising plugs for ab.

I'm sure ab makes a great product and those that use it are happy to tell others, but technical problems do not get solved by advertising plugs. No pun intended.

Dave,

Maybe we're talking about 2 different things. I thought oil puke cans were for venting motor oil into a can instead of the intake under hard cornering/braking. The PS vent cap mod is a $20 dollar chrome tube which keeps the cap from turning off.....as they are prone to do (mine came off when new 8 years ago) A like solution can easily be fashioned at home as all you are doing is providing a drag on the cap turning itself off. For $20 bucks, the chrome tube looks nice and does the job.

Well, I guess you can learn something new every day. Thanks for the link. IMO, there is no reason for this extreme.........a puke can for venting PS fluid at $200. The $20 dollar vent tube does the trick just fine......the main purpose of which is to keep the cap from turning off by itself. In 80,000 miles, I have never added any PS fluid to the cars between changes -- which is every 20K miles or so. This would indicate to me that no fluid was vented. As I've said before, our car gets run harder than most. I do have his PS bracket /pulley upgrade.

Big Brakes bling come at a price...

Might have found the ceramic sleeving I need at McMaster Carr for the plug boots. Deal with that on Monday.

McMaster Carr.......the one stop shop for almost anything under the sun. I would never have thought of looking there although when I worked, that book was always on the shelf and ready to go. Hope it works out.

Then how in the world do you change your plugs?

Try some Liquid Wrench BTW.

I actually had no problem removing the ORIGINAL:rolleyes:, 10yr old plugs even with the stock metal shields on!

Thanks for the tip - I have Liquid Wrench on the shelf but it didn't even dawn on me to use it once I saw the plugs could come out.:headbang:

Liquid Wrench actually worked so well the plugs were wet the next day when I pulled them out. Engine cold, squirt each, wait one day.

You can see the Liquid Wrench in the photo that soaked through to the plug tips overnight. They had been in the engine for like 24K miles or so, and almost flew out after a little breakaway torque.

I changed them again last night to upgrade to the SRT plug - no Liquid Wrench - and broke three of them coming out.

Moral of story... Liquid Wrench.

Definatly put a little anti sieze on the plugs before installing them....the will not get stuck.

I put the plug boots on. These will not slide up the wires. The opening at the plug end is just large enough for the plug to go through.

They look ok...more importantly they will protect the wires. I should have had my headers coated before installing them.
