Hi all,I bought the MGW gripper shift knob this week. It seems to shorten the throw nicely, has anyone tried it with a Ripper shifter? How much more will it shorten the throw? Will it give it amore positive feel? Thanks in advance...AL...00prowler

My Viper came with what I think was a Ripper short throw kit that was put in by the previous owner. I also have the MGW gripper shift knob. It is a sweet setup. Just have to flick my wrist to shift. I can't imagine driving with the stock setup.

I've got the B&M Ripper Shifter with the MGW First Strike knob. It is an excellent setup. The stock shaft and knob on the 1999+ Gen II's are lousy -- way too tall for my preference. The setup on the earlier Gen II's wasn't much better.

There are lots of options: First swap in one of the MGW knobs. Then add in a shorter shaft (from Rich Detert). If you still want a better feel, install the B&M.
