just back from Knockhill a track in Scotland after a weekend with *** who was competing in a event yesterday. Track was similiar N-burg very up/down with blind corners and blind crests and quite narrow in places, set around some lovely mountain type scenery

*** and GTS did great winning the rear wheel drive class and finishing 3rd overall in the club class, and bringing back a few more trophies for the mantle piece. It was **** first time here so learning the track was needed as the day went on lap times dropped to 59 seconds. The British Touring cars apprantly do around 54 seconds but some of the tuners cars in the pro class competing on saturday ran the same time !

pic 61 is a short wheel base highly tuned EVO with carbon roof, guess you dont get many of those in the US ;) there's said to be $450K in that car

pic 62 was the fastest car (****** Cosworth 4 wheel drive with 600bhp), a local guy he was flying. Some of the eventual winners of the series will be shipped over for free to the US to compete !

Huge thanks to Neil for his support in coming along, and nice load of pics you took there. Thanks also to Scottish VCA members Colin and Kathy for having us stay, and producing lots of nice cakes! Cheers to Colin for bringing his massive and very orange Ram along to the track as support vehicle, so I had somewhere safe to stow wheels/tires, fuel, and kit etc. (After large curry the night before) Neil did a fantastic job riding shotgun in the morning, watching gauges, so I could set a good fuel map pre-track. It was my first time at this northern most circuit, with blind turns up and down hill it was fantastic, challenging but fun; for which much the same can be said for driving a bent frame / out of alignment Viper, with a shot rear tie-rod joint wobbling the wheel about :bonker: Damn, I wish I had more time and some money in the bank to sort my car pre-race! But, I was there!
Picking Neil, up ready for the trip.

Northern mountains here we come.

Probably doesn't sound much of a journey, but nearly 1000 miles round trip at over $5 a gallon to Northern UK, you'll appreciate the credit card bashing gas costs just to get there!

No http://www.miniviper.com in Colins garage last weekend, here's the big Beloved parked up next to Kathys Cerbra for the stay.

At the track, what a support vehicle.

We were the only competition vehicle to drive there and back, all others arrived trailered!

Way to go Nadine! :2tu: 1st in class and 3rd overall shows some serious driving. :nana:

What gauges are you watching to tune? Isn't it easier to log a bunch of sensors via the VEC2 versus watching them by eye?

Thanks for the pics.

*** converted to side exhaust to make room for a removeable tow bracket that she designed and fabricated herself, it just bolts on when required you may see some pics in her gallery/photo area

Aaron, yeah it sure is the way to go to log via the VEC2, but sometimes it and my lap top just quite talking to one another! So I have to watch A/F and boost gauges and program via card writer! Although the gauges are dash mounted, it helps to have a passenger watch to see where the A/Fs at relative to the boost, so I can pay attention to driving and the highway!

I was pleased with the result for Viper, especially in a rather Japanese dominated world of tuned motors over here, that are lighter and have better brakes. I'm no special driver, if anything quite a ****** for taking a car to the track out of alignment with a bent frame! The Viper's just such a good all rounder for 1/4 mile, autocross, circuit or even towing
...yeah the tow hitch is removable, here's the link to the towing thread if your interested:

Camo pants, Sneaky Pete earrings and a Viper pulling a trailer full of slicks!

It doesn't get much cooler than that

To be the only car that wasn't trailered deserves a trophy also :2tu:

Congrats Nadine :D
