THATS NOT THE POINT OF THIS THREAD In this thread we have a guy who thinks because he ran a 11.3 he can run a 10.That same guy is comparing a Gen 3 with bolt ons to a Gen 2 who motor was built at almost cost is no object territory (i know i spent 40 k in 96 on it ).That car NEVER lost a race on street tires to another NA VIPER in 5 years of competition and was bought by the then pres of this club.If you dont believe me shoot Joe Houss an e mail and ask him how my old Gen 2 would do in a race against a Gen 3 with bolt ons .That Gen 2 NEVER RAN 10S.(11.2 AR NEAR 132 )

The point is that no one has cared enough to try. Speedfreak is going to attempt it...so bury your head in the sand somewhere until then. Your posts get old, with the same crying, over, and over again.

Are you kidding i had the best of the bestJamie Furman Evan Smith Kemn Miele ) try a thousand times over a 10 year period with a car a ton more powerful than a gen 3 that trapping only 124 mph and could not do it..You have a Gen 4 can you do it =NO .If you have ever seen a blown Viper running 10s on Pilots they are trapping a good 10 mph more than 124 to run 10.9.

I think the question is, have I cared enough to do it in the past? The answer to that question would be NO. Jamie has already proved they can go 10's on street tires. I drive mine back and forth to work, and won't sit at a track trying over and over again to run a 10 sec pass, blowing a differential or a half-shaft on the launch. Then getting towed from a track, afterward dealing with my car waiting to be fixed. I'm damn proud of my stock Viper and what it can do, and don't care that you think it can't run 10's.

We had a lot of high horsepower cars out at the track in September, and I was shooting video for it, as several of my friends were racing. I decided to run my car a few times for fun. Hence the lazy 2.0 60' and careful launch. Result: 11.460 pass. You are telling me with a good driver in better DA, that same car wouldn't run a 10.999?

Iam telling you i had one of the best drivers in the country try in a 600 foot da (private mag test )and he could not get near a 10 second run .Iam also telling you of all the Gen 4 ever raced down the quarter its been done once.

As far as the GTS I believe I ran 123 and change, I can't find the slip? And the ACR I ran like 130.03 I think and that was with the wing off, so aero did not play a role. As far as the Viper being maxed out, for me it was as I have made enough passes in a car to know if I left anything in it, but with better air and a perfect leave sure it might run quicker and faster but nobodys done it yet in 3 years of production! Maybe someone else can get the number in a Viper? I plan on trying again in my ACR but the biggest problem I don't think your getting is a Viper is hard to drive at a dragstrip with 3.07 gears and stock tires with the way power comes on compared to the Gen 2, even though it has way more hp than the Gen 2, the Gen 2 was an easy car to drag race, one of my favorites of all time! Traction is a big problem with the Viper suspension and as the weather gets colder, power gets better and traction becomes worse. In my case it seems I either bog or burn them off.

Re: More Progress Towards The 10's In My Mildly Modified 06 Viper - Turned An 11.3 @

I don't know how you do math? I just looked at 12 timeslips from my runs in my ZR1 and 7 of them are over 131 mph and 5 of those are over 132 and one was 10.82 at 132.88 which is close to 133 mph. Only 4 were under 130 mph and the worst mph was 128.82 and the only other ones under 130 were 129 and change. The average mph is more like 131 for the ZR1 and out of those 12 slips 7 runs were 10.8 or better with one being a 10.7 and 3 being 10.9 and 2 being 11.0's my worst and only run that wasn't an 11.0 or better was the first shakedown run and that was 11.19. Thats like an 10.8 average at 131 for the Z. With the Viper it took 20 runs to get into the 10's and it was the only 10 second pass at 129 and change. I also ran 1 11.01 2 11.05's and 2 11.07 runs and one 11.08 in the Viper, the rest were 11 teens and 20's at anywhere from 127mph to 129 mph, with the best mph 129.8 which was 3 mph slower than my best ZR1 run which was also in worse weather than the Viper ran in. Thats more like an average of 11 teens at 128 average which is at least 3 to 4 tenths and 3 mph better average in the ZR1 than the Viper and I think I have clearly proven that, so lets keep it real! In better weather I will prove the ZR1 is even faster than I have already went. There is one major exception I take in comparison of all these (my dad is stronger than yours posts) and thats most if not all of these comparisons that I am reading are no more than hot air as no one has even had their car at the strip and for sure they haven't had their Viper and their ZR1 at the strip for comparison and I have. I can compare unbiasedly because I own both and I am not a homer to either car so I think my comparisons might be a little more realistic than these virtual comparisons I seem to be reading. I do agree with one part of one of the most recent posts and that is the Z06 is the most impressive of all 3 cars for price and performance.
More interesting info 20 runs same day to get 1 10 second pass out of a Gen 4 thats funny since some claim it can be done with a Gen 3 with bolt ons trapping 124

well your compareing 1996 techniology to 2010 technology brother..

550 rwhp was a big deal back in 1996 for a GTS viper...But their have been several gen3 Vipers with just boltons and tune to hit 500-520 rwhp...meaning that they are much closer than you think.

As well you said no gen 3 has gotten close to high 120's in the past 10 years..

cash 84 ran a 125.99 (126 mph) in a car with exhaust/intake and tune...Throw in the adittional mods that Speedfreak has and a negative 1000 foot DA and you will see 127-129 mph...

Before you spout off that those are Gen4 numbers..Gen4's have seen 129-131 mph in the negative DA's bone stock

Twister i owned all of them NO Gen 3 with bolt on is going to come near my old Gen 2 (your on crack if you think so )I dont want to hear bs rwhp numbers as show me a Gen 3 with bolt on in any da that traps 132 mph.My gen 2 could miss a gear and beat my 3 that had bolt ons so please tell it to someone else .As far as Gen 4 my Gen 2 was faster than my 4 .LOL i owned them all raced them all in all types of DA and your going to tell me whats faster please.

Point of the entire thread (as Jamie himself stated )WEATHER GETS COLDER ,POWER GETS BETTER ,TRACTION BECOMES WORSE .I have been trying to get that point thru to you guys -the added power from a better DA ABSOLUTELY does not mean a better ET (what it does mean is more tire slippage)

PS to show you just how wrong your facts are Furman in a neg DA trapped 129 .Evan in a 600 foot plus da trapped 129.7 (shouldnt the neg da enable him to trap much higher )in any case i want to see a Gen 3 with bolt ons in that same neg DA(Jamie ran his Gen 4 ) trap 129

Trap 129? The only trap I see going on here is 1BAD's jaw on someone's *******. Must be painful.

Ok,now Gen II's are faster than Gen IV's. I guess I should forget everything I've seen "at the track" and go with your superior knowledge.

So I guess a 396 1965 Vette is quicker than a 1967 427 or 1970 454 is the slowest of the three ?

I propose a renaming of 1SadGTS, and find KARZAN pretty fitting since he likes to swing so much. Clearly misspelling car, and putting it in all caps depicting his normal micro-****** frustration and the overwhelmingly obvious fact that he isn't cool or heroic enough for the title of the real Tarzan seems to make it an awfully good suggestion. Thoughts?

Re: More Progress Towards The 10's In My Mildly Modified 06 Viper - Turned An 11.3 @

I won't even waste the time quoting 1badgts babble. All he talks about is trap speed. What he should be posting is 60 foot times. As I stated pages ago that is why his drivers can't hit the number with 132 trap speed. They, unlike me, cannot get the power to ground. End of story. The car could trap 140 and without a proper 60 foot time it will never hit a 10.

I am running better 60 foot times now than ANY OF YOUR DRIVERS HAVE DONE with there 1000s of passes. That is what matters and is the key to the 10 second run. Physics are physics and if I can trap 124 to 125 in 83 degree weather then in negative DA weather it will be 2-3 mph higher, period. Again, end of story. My car picked up 3 mph on the same night simply with a good cool down (from 120.8 to 124.3 and 125). These are the facts.

When Furman ran his 10 he was hot lapping the car. With a good cool down and manifold iceing it would have trapped 132-134. So there was plenty left in the power department. He chose not to do this because he was getting better 60 foot times hot lapping and keeping his rythm.

I don't care how much money you spent on your engine. It is irrelavent to this discussion. The facts are your girl friend Smith and other heros couldn't get the power to the ground, period. I can and have - THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE YOU IDIOT. That is why I am a tenth off his best run with 80 hp less in crappy weather and have smoked all your other heros with my times in a modded Gen III.

You can talk trap speed till you drop. Any car trapping 125 or above can run a 10 with proper traction. Apparently, none of your heros could make it hook and shift like I do. Too bad.

For me to run a 10 I will need a 60 foot at 1.70 or less and a trap speed in the 127-128 range. With the proper weather that should happen. That is it. It isn't rocket science. All this other babble coming out of your mouth is moot and you have still not accepted the fact that I am out driving your heros. I know it hurts and is bursting your bubble, but that is the reality. Go cry your self to sleep and get over it.

Again, you *****, read my last post. Yours should read WEATHER GETS COLDER, POWER GETS BETTER, TRACTION BECOMES WORSE - FOR YOUR HERO DRIVERS.

I suggest you revisit my numbers which have been covered at least 5 times. My traction didn't get worse with more power it stayed the same. Moreover my 60 foots overall are going down everytime I visit the track and have already dusted your hero"s equivalents. And I didn't need 1000 passes. Ray W did the same. I ran a 1.74 short time and 120.8 trap. Then a 1.75 short time AND 124.3 TRAP and I only got 6 runs to play. SO THE POINT WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL (and is backed up irrefutably by my times) IS TRACTION DOESN'T GET WORSE FOR ME. JUST FOR YOUR HEROS who apparently can't run my numbers. Even Furman, who I respect alot, ran slower short times than me. READ IT, KNOW IT, ACCEPT IT.

Amen. I guess those 1.4 short times are imaginary since none of the 1badgts's heros didn't run them so it can't be done. You and I run the same tire and you are beating me by 3 tenths and I am spanking his heros at 1.74 and this guy can't figure out how I can run a 10 with a 1.70 or better 60 foot. I am surprised he can spell drag racing.

Just because you were stupid enough to spend $40,000 for a motor build, doesn't mean anything. This $40,000 motor made how much power? You sound like a washed up movie star, that relives his glory days. You, and your car, are old news.

Just because you were stupid enough to spend $40,000 for a motor build, doesn't mean anything. This $40,000 motor made how much power? You sound like a washed up movie star, that relives his glory days. You, and your car, are old news.
Made enough power to win 5 straight mopar nat titles WHAT have you won

How much power did $40,000 get you? Did you completely sidestep that question?

How much have I cared to win a title? Oh yeah...NONE

I am you ***** for the 2003-2006 SRT 10. Which is the only car I own or have driven on this list. Jesus, you can't even read. You hold the record for making a fool out of yourself over and over again. None of us can compare. Furman owns every car he has the record for which pretty much says it all. I would actually have to drive the car to set a record idiot. I do note that my modded gen iii walked all over your gen 4 with a 100 horsepower more. Lol. Yeah, you are quite the driver.

Enough power to beat anybody the car ever raced in the VCA MOPAR nat format.Enough power to trap 132 NA pump gas on motor alone running stock tires. Enough to make the cover and be selected as one of the fastest true street cars out there .Do the math thats 600 plus to the tire fast even now .Its funny you comment on everything but Smith (not even owning a Gen 4) BEAT YOUR BEST TIME and FURMAN EASILY OBLITERATED YOUR BEST TIME (whats he like half a second faster than you ever ran )

Your calling me a ***** and your stupid enough TO THINK YOU CAN RUN 10S in a bolt on Gen 3 OK.Your calling me a moran and your not smart enough to realize how far an 11.3 is from a 10 second run .By the way the list was to show you what these drivers can do STOCK (you dont run stock do you )

Once again ALL TALK My HEROES (AS YOUB CALL THEM )ACTUALLY run 10s and hold most of the stock production car records .For all your speculation and theorys you left out one thing THAT 10 SECOND TIME SLIP

No he doesn't. More of your b.s. Smith doesn't hold a single viper or vette record on the list you just provided. Best he turned in a viper on the list was 11.70 and 11.2 in your "unstoppable" 10 year old antique GTS. When he is not writing an article for his ford magazine on the ford car he is about to test, nobody cares about him driving their car. We don't care about Ford records, this is a viper forum.

Furman's talent has never been questioned and throughout this thread we have provided his own words which essentially back up what I and others have been saying on running a ten. It is your learning impairment that prevents you from comprehending the same as you never address those facts or arguments as it would burst your bubble over your girlfriend Smith and force you to eat crow on your antique GTS.

Likewise, I fail to understand why you keep asking for a 10 second timeslip when it has been stated repeatedly that the weather is not good enough yet. What is your I.Q. - 80. My 60 foot times are facts not talk. My timeslips are facts, not talk. Extricate your head from your ass.

Smith holds the fastest time ever stock FGT 11.0 flat .As fas as Viper ran a flat 11.3 in my GEN 4 (AT THE TIME OF THE RUN WAS THE FASTEST TIME EVER ) his 11.7 in a stock Gen 2 was also the fastest EVER at the time of the run.Once again UNTILL you actually run a 10 second run 9ACTUAL TIME )ALL OF YOUR THEORYS AND SUCH are NONSENSE.Furman is probably the best driver ever in a Gen 4 and he BARELY ran 10s (in a under 600 foot DA).PUT THE CRACK PIPE DOWN
