> Most powerful SRT-10\'s -- who has them? <

So who has gone out and modded their SRT-10's and claim to have the most powerful one around?

I know there are several turbo cars out there that are putting down some nasty numbers. Anybody know what those numbers are and who tuned them.... AND... and they holding up to all that power so far?

I ask because I need a benchmark for my next project :)

My srt is bone stock now. i'm going to have Doug Levin supercharge it. i'll let you know how i like it. i wont go turbo. My 2000 gts has had a DLM level for the past four years and almost 50k miles. i like the having the street ability and characteristics of the sc. Its quiet and i dont have to wrench on it.

Most powerful SRT's (that I know of):

Gary's old RSI car (now Norm's) - stroker, S/C and N2O
Heffner's TT
[******] TT w/ N2O

All in 900+/- rwhp range and the turbos have even more tq.

Re: > Most powerful SRT-10\'s -- who has them? <

I have the most efficiant one around. -40lbs exhaust, -70lbs on the rotating wheel assembly, -20 on the rotating clutch assembly, -14 Hawker Oddasey Battery, -15lbs on misc. items. I'll bet I have the lightest SRT in the world, and not sacrificing anything to speak off. Rotationan weight reduction can vary, but this is equal to much weight loss, resulting in a very fast car.

Not to mention the non weight factors. I really wonder where all this puts me. I will be getting some updated time slips, and dyno report on the car. I have a few things to do.

You shaved approximately 159lbs from your SRT10? Wow....While you are dynoing and running the car dont forget to weigh that sucker...Would be nice to see the actual new weight after all you've done....

yes I have a set of SST forged 7075 aircraft alloy. I did have shave an eigth inch off the parking brake They weigh 19.5 lbs each, and the Big Nitto's weigh much less also than the Lead Runflats. Rotors are to be StopTech. All in all, it adds up to more than 70lbs, I haven't got the rotors on yet, but I think it will bring me up to around -73lbs Would anyone like to see some pics of the car, if so I will have to e-mail them, since I haven't figured out how to do this.

Manny,
My customers '04 went 10.91 @ 133 on the first time out at the track at Topeka in the 95 degree heat on street tires. This was with a mild launch and no WOT until third gear. I think the car should go 10.50s or 60s here at home. We have some rear end issues to work out before we can really hammer on it out of the hole.

Re: > Most powerful SRT-10\'s -- who has them? <

Viper D,
This is a heads and cam car with a small shot of nitrous. I put in new rods and pistons for the supercharger that is on its way...hopefully 10-12 pounds plus a 50 + shot. We keep breaking spider gears in the differential, so we are trying to cure that so we can really lay into the car. We left a lot on the table in Topeka. Hopefully we will pick up with better air and less elevation.
I think BTR and RSI have some fast combinations out there also, I would imagine they are more involved than my set up. I thought I read somewhere that one of them have a 700 hp version. I may be wrong.

Joe, you must go with the Detroit True Trac, or Quaife set up in the rear. All your problems will be over.

If you had a carbon fiber drive shaft, this may have helped, as it reduces shock on the rear end, not to mention is much stronger.

I've said it many times, if the rear gets to much shock, it's going to go.

I've put True Trac set ups in several cars of the past, and never had a problem. I think the C/F drive shaft is a must. Quaife seems to be the one of choice, and one of the few mods that help resale value.

Hey SKip, what does the trie trac or Quaife setup cost? How much power are they good for?

To be honest with you, I'd love to have a 1000 RWHP SRT-10. I've already got an 883 RWHP Gen 2 GTS, and a 783 RWHP Gen 1 RT-10, so I want to go to the next level with the Gen3. To be honest, I want the SRT-10 to thrill me like the GTS did when I got it back after supercharging it, where it scared me!

Manny, if you want to be scared in your SRT/10 you need to let me or Dearing to take you around the track at Willow Springs :) That will save you at least $20K and the rest you can donate to our racing fund :)

Re: > Most powerful SRT-10\'s -- who has them? <

We recently performed a head/cam/exhaust and single stage nitrous/propane upgrade on a customers 04' SRT.

It makes 736 RWHP @ 912 RWTQ and isn't broken in yet! Will make more power as jetting for NOS is small in comparison to what we use on Gen 1 and 2 Vipers. Cost associated for this set-up is very attractive considering the alternatives. This Viper still has the stock intake, throttle body, rotating assembly, ECU and fuel system. Can easly be returned to showroom stock.

Take care,

Tom

Viper D,
It is a NX wet kit on a 100 shot. Skip, I am considering both of your options, just trying to figure out which route to go.

Manny, the cost of the Detroit Tru Trac, is around $1200.00 plus labor, if memory serves me. It is a torque biasing/sensing diff. The Quaife is a good bit more, but has a much better reputation in the Viper community. It's not that much better overall. C/F drive shaft is around $700.00 Extrema half shafts by Unitrax are also a nice upgrade. They really are well made products.

Call Tom DeNooyer or Andy at:

DeNooyer Dodge in Albany NY. 518-869-0148

They have a SVS SRT-10 TT. that makes 800rwhp and 880 rwftlbs. @ 11psi. They are running it on the street @ 9psi.

They don't spend time on the forums but said they would be more than happy to talk to anyone about the car.

Curious, but what are the turn around times at SVS and other tuners? Seems like RSI has turned around ROOF's car in the shortest amount of time so far (6 weeks from what I heard.)

Tom, Nitrous sounds good but I don't like the propane portion, as I have been rear ended twice now and am just nervous about having propane in a car. I also want power all the time without having to refill, and want something pretty quiet (a sleeper) so I am looking more at the turbo set ups methinks.

Jonathan, I had Dearing take me out in my own car (his car was out of commission due to tire failure) and he DID scare me. I know how butt heavy my Gen 1 is on the track where it likes to spin, and Dearing pushed my car to limits I didn't think were possible to where the car would hold the track. I tried to match what he did right afterwards and spun the car in turn 1 of the second lap at Willow Springs, as I was coming in way too hot and just didn't make it.

When are you going back out to Willow? I'd like to meet up with you and take that ride in your new car. I'll bring out my RT/10 if you want to really "DRIVE" a car that is not forgiving at all.

I'll be at California Speedway with the rest of the Viper Crew on July 31st. It's the TCRA/VARA Race. Lot's of great cars will be there. I will also run the next OTR event in August at Willow Springs. See you there.

Re: > Most powerful SRT-10\'s -- who has them? <

Heffners Performance is planning to debut its SRT10 TT at the track at Ohio. It is not a race car, it is a daily driver developed to be driven anywhere at any time - so we'll all see how it runs together

Jason found an exta 40rwhp from a simple mod on the last car so will make that mod to the shop car before racing.

We believe Heffners turnaround times can come down to 30 days provided a car is scheduled in with adequate warning once we've completed streamlining the operation. In the meantime we say allow 2 months unless there is extensive custom work required as well.

30 days turnaround time would be fantastic and set records. I thought 6 weeks for Roof to get his RSI car back was nice!

Jon, what does it cost for Sunday only? Dang, now I am in a pickle, because I was thinking of flying out to the V10 nat's in Ohio on the 6th and 7th to check out te races, but more so to check out the RSI turbo car and Heffners TT SRT-10, maybe get to quickly drive each to see what I am in for on my SRT-10. Also, I hear that Doug Levin is going to try to be there, and I have yet to meet the man who put my GTS together.

But then again, I LOVE Button Willow -- most fun track I have ever been on. I have spun off that track so many times it ain't funny. I broke my front wheel off at that track in the long sweeper turn and watched it fly by my car (What me and me in car buddy say as this is happening is funny and was caught on tape.)

Has DLM built and delivered any upgraded SRT's? What kind of dyno numbers do they make?

Anybody have a Paxton kit on their SRT? Have previous issues with Gen2 Paxton kits like fuel system, tensioners, etc. been resolved?

I'm considering trying a blower out but would like to get some more details. Thanks.
