It was a fun, and generally flattering review of new Viper. The only exception that I had was that they repeatedly kept calling it a musclecar. Which is inaccurate, and even if it's stated as being the king of musclecars, it's a sleight because musclecars are as often associated with being quick only in a straight line. I seriously doubt that they would have the nerve to call a Lamborghini LP640 a musclecar.
But with that mistaken classification aside, it was generally a fair-handed and even glowing review of the new Viper. Along with Edmunds, Motorweek usually does a track comparison against the top Mustang, Z06, and Viper, and always chooses the Z06 for it's practicality. But this time the improvements to the new Viper should earn it comparatively more respect, not only for the added power, but the balanced performance, and handling improvements to this new model.
The great point here is that several auto journalists who would have normally dismissed the Viper as an impractical and flawed toy, are now seeing the '08 model as being far more balanced and competitive.
