After months of searching for a sapphire 2001 ACR, I finally found one a few weeks ago. I flew cross country to check it out in person. When I saw it, I knew this was the one! It looked great and the test drive went well. I bought it on the spot from the original owner with all the original documentation. Because it is winter and the weather is unpredictable, I opted to have it transported to my house rather than driving the 1500 miles. Well, yesterday I finally get the call. The driver calls me to let me know he will be at my house in about an hour. I got home just in time to see them unloading my car. In that moment, all the phone calls, emails and effort to find the right car was worth it. I will post pictures just as soon as I figure out how to do it.

How do I upload the pictures to the VCA server? I read the FAQ, but can't quite figure it out.

Thanks

Man there was a saphire ACR sitting at Redwood City Dodge forever, you could of had that instead of going far out of state.

I actually had a deal to buy that 2001 ACR at Redwood City Dodge. I went in on December 27, test drove the car, and made them an offer. After an hour of negotiations, they accepted the offer. In my offer I had made it clear I wanted the 7yr/70k warranty included. When the paperwork was presented to me, there was an additional $2,000 added to the price of the car for the warranty. We went back and forth for another hour or so, with them finally agreeing to split the warranty cost with me. They started to prepare the paperwork, but the manager on duty said he had to check with the owner and that he would call me tommorrow. The next day I called the dealership around noon and neither the sales person nor the manager I had dealt with were there, but I was told the car was just sold to someone else. Needless to say, I was not too happy, and when I did get ahold of the salesman later in the day, he said he would have called me, but he lost my phone number. Right. He also kept my drivers license from the test drive. It took me a few days to discover it was missing and track him down to get it back! I have several stories just like that one where it was supposedly a done deal only to slip away at the last moment.

Now I have finally got my ACR and it is in the garage and it feels great!

Congratulations!

Check out the N.CA VCA web iste for events and benefits.

We have an indoor Karting event Feb. 8, 2004 in Fremont. 10am to 1pm. Join us if you can.

Redwood City Dodge - your story is not the first of this type from this dealership. One of our long time VCA members had a deal to purchase their GT2. He went to pick up the car with his check. It was sold to someone out of state who paid more.

Thank guys. It has been a long road to getting this ACR and I can't wait for the weekend to take it out. I look forward to joining VCA and participating in the local events, such as the Karting on February 8.

I am still having no luck in getting my pictures up on the site. I now understand uploading is for members only. Is there another way to display the pictures on the forum for soon to be members?

Thanks,

Jim

There are only two things I have been in love with. 1) My wife 2) The Viper. Not sure what order though.

Sounds like you made the right move - don't support dealers who pull that kind of crap.

Welcome, it will take a while to get your VCA membership made official by DC. I don't think we have any rules about posting or uploading pics. that require you to wait for DC, email the moderators, they might ask you for your VIN but that should IMO be the only barrier to posting pics. Hey Tony ,Chris, somebody help this guy..we LOVE pics!
