I think the black and red wing would also be a nice addition. Maybe one of less height, but the wing and wheels would be enough IMHO. Looking at the ALMS car and the stock car side by side, there isn't a whole lot of add-ons since the bodywork is the main difference that you cannot replicate easily, unless they make you a new front grill with fog lights...

I see now on Nine Ball's page: Flush-Loc centerlock hub conversion

Cool Story but i'm wondering, as this thread is a week old, how long it take to do that paint job?

Be patient guys, it's close. I've been waiting since my initial deposit DEC 2010 :) I've never even seen a GEN V in person, except from afar at the NY auto show.

FTV is positive proof that patience is a virtue ---------- and once done this will be an extremely special Snake.

Those that have been to Prefix know the level of detail is borderline fanatical, and that is one of the reasons the paint quality is way beyond what was on any year of earlier Vipers!

Wow...

2010? Seriously? I've driven one, been in two, photographed nine across three states and basically molested both GTS-R's...in less than a year.

But here you are, sitting in your house almost going on 4 YEARS, put a deposit, waited TWO YEARS AFTER THAT, saw the concept on a turntable in NYC (assuming you didn't go to VOI11) and no Gen V in your driveway...yet.

Wow. I am just blown away by your patience and desire, then to have Mark do a layout and have prefix paint it like a GTS-R. Your insane! LOL I can't get my head around it, just wow!

Funny comment...deserves a reply! When I bought my F 360 it took 18 months from waiting list, to spec out and delivery...and they were only building 4000 worldwide at the time, so I'm accustomed to waiting for a special car. The Viper being a new makeover, could be prone to problems and delays, and production would be much more limited than F, so I was prepared for a wait. If I'm not mistaken there are still people waiting for their builds from the day the order book opened. Anyway, when I saw the Stryker Red and the GTS-R side by side at the auto show, I knew then exactly what my car would look like, and that there would be additional wait. I had a Gen 4, so my need to see the car in person (knowing the Gen 5 would be a big improvement), was not a biggie.

Attached is a pic of the heat resistant red X brace, to match the valve covers. Sorry for the piecemeal, but it's how I recieve them. It's been a rather intensive project, let alone the amount of disassembly and surface preparation, as the past pics show. The paint work is being polished tomorrow and then re-assembly. I expect final project pics end of week, and will post asap. I will photo the car in daylight from various angles when I recieve it and post em. To say Prefix has been meticulous, would be a gross understatement...

Wow, congrats that is going to be a stunner.

Can't wait to see the final product.

Cheers,

Im guessing about 15k. Probably more...

Better than spending 14k on stryker red. If I am going to spend 15k on a paint job it better be some epic crazy agera R kind of paint job lol. Or like what this guy is doing which is more complicated than just a paint that has 4 different paints mixed in.

Mark Trostle's signature in rear hatch and logo's.

Prefix team will sign also, then bury all under clear coat. Interesting comment to me from Dale Markgraf, Prefix program manager << Mark Trostle said last night that he "Loved it, great choice of colors, thinks it looks better than the race car!">> Pretty nice comment from the guy who designed the graphics/colors on the GTS-R ALMS cars.

My car has been under project works at Prefix since AUG 5 ...hopefully finished next week w/pics and shipping home. As for the cost, I will post when all is said and done, as the commission is open ended based on estimate. Note that Prefix did not do the ALMS cars, so it is new territory for them.

Wheels are a must...no idea yet, other than black paint.

I've been watching this thread, since I also have a white car. The paint theme looks stunning! I would be happy to help you pick the perfect wheels for the car. Agreed with the others, I think the center lock hubs would match the track theme perfectly. We can even make the center lock ring anodized red, like the one shown on this wheel:

This wheel style, the GA3-6 with matte black centers and using a gloss black outer lip.

Also, for those who inquired about the centerlock conversion, please check this link out. I have all the photos and explanation here: http://motorhed.com/xf/threads/2013-viper-photo-shoot-forgeline-gz3-wheels.6055/

The Forgeline "Flush-Loc" conversion can be done to just about any of their current wheel designs. This is an $1800/set upgrade to the wheels cost, because the kits are custom made for your specific vehicle.

That conversion is REALLY great looking. I love the center lock designs I see on Porsches and race cars.

I really cant wait to see this car. I check this thread almost everyday hoping to see some more teasers lol. That top wheel NB posted with the red centers is a gorgeous wheel and it would look fantastic on any G5 let alone your one of a kind special. It will add a **** yet very classy look to the V. But Ive always been partial to these kind of wheel designs on my previous cars. Awesome project F2V. Hopefully no dolphins will be on the hood lol.
