Great information!

When you get a chance it would be great to have you compare and contrast the SRT factory and build process with the Ferrari and Lambo factories and build processes. There is a show called "Ultimate Factories" or something like that which gives you video tour which I find very interesting. The SRT Plant looks very clean and automated.

Thanks again for the information.

SRTViper: would you mind editing your last response to remove all of the photos? Sort of made the tread even longer than I thought it could be, nobody wants to see me twice. Thanks.

The track pack Pirelli tires have deep grooves, much better depth than the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup.

Sorry done. I was only trying to quote that last part but it quoted everything. So yea the p zero corsa tires can be driven in the rain then? Have you driven with a car that has had the mcihelin PSS tires? If you have how do the p zero corsa compare?

Facinating and informative:2tu:

Many Thanks

A specific question as to interior noise level. An article by a journalist reported high levels of interior noise from the exhaust. In addition he reported a drumming noise cause by a harmonic at highway speeds. What was your experience with the noise levels inside the car?:dunno:

SRTViper, I have the Michelin PSS tires on my blue car. Excellent tire, not as sticky as Corsa though.

I Bin, interior noise is more than a normal car, due to the side pipes. But for a Viper, I wouldn't have any other way. Most journalists buy Camrys, so I don't really value their appraisals of cars I prefer. Haha

And they were completely fine in the rain?? If these tires provide both better grip in the dry and can grip in the rain then I don't have to switch to MPSS tires and don't need another set of rims so this would be helpful.

Also since you stopped by the forgeline factory are you going to be putting a set of those on your viper? I was planning to get a set of HREs when I order

What? You put 2,500 miles on a Viper? It's completely worn out and fit only for the crusher. I'll be over there tomorrow with a rollback and $200.

Great to read all this. Factory shots are really appreciated since as you know Bowling Green is a no photo zone, although I wonder whether it's more for security or a UAW work rule in their GM contract.

$1,995 destination even though you picked it up at the factory after paying your own way there sounds about right. As I'm sure you also know, for the C7 that's close to the combined destination and R8C charge for, what, a 10-minute truck ride to the Museum. Of course if I get a C7 I'll call that a bargain at twice the price.

OOH! OOH! While at CAAP, did you hear anything unclassified about when we can expect a vert?

I drove about 4 hours straight in the rain, at highway speeds. No complaints.

Hemotoxic, I didn't inquire about the convertibles, and didn't see any pre-production cars.

Hmm how long is the thread suppose to last on the corsa tire? If I'm only going to drive my viper around 3000-4000 miles a year only half of which will be on the corsa tire will they wear out after a year or 2? I saw they cost like 4000 to replace. I'm not so thrilled about that one.

In a couple of years you will have more choices.:2tu:

Tony--
Thanks for such an informative write up. You answered many of my concerns as well as many of my thoughts regarding the comparison between the Gen3/4. Your honest statements are my thoughts when I drove a Gen 5 at VOI and at a dealership here in Sarasota. Obviously I like white also. Have a good, SAFE time with you new toy--thanks again for probably the best write up I've read on the Gen 5---Dave

Congrats on the the new Gen 5!

I really like the color... and I prefer the looks of the base model to the GTS version. Body colored rear fascia, widow peak and the hood looks better to me over the GTS.

Let's see some new shoes on it ASAP!

Your comment is like my perspective, but, I been like a yo-yo, I have changed my mind a dozen times on which I prefer, the body color rear fascia, or the blacked out rear fascia ? I ordered a red SRT, but, I may have the panel painted or done in an overlay of carbon fiber.

Congrats on the the new Gen 5!

^^I saw this vid on 6speed and wondered if it was OP's car. Hung in there a bit vs a modded Z06. How much power does that LMR package make just for context?
