This is the first time I took any car to the track including the Viper. It was awesome! These cars are truly amazing! I didn't wreck or spin. I had the fastest car in my group easy. The next closest was probably a stock Z06. The track was Summit Point in WV near Washington DC. The track is decent for Vipers. Fairly long track with minimal tight turns and a good long straight. I got up to 140 mph, but I'm sure with practice 150+ is easily achievable. Biggest surprise was the tires. I melted those things. Coming off the track my tires were like tar. I could put my finger print on them. Cool! :headbang: My breaking fluid also got hot and the breaks started to get soft. Haven't washed the car yet to check for damage, but everything looks okay. In all it was an incredible experience. I went through Bill Scott Racing if anyone in the area is interested. Below are some pics of cars. Some of the faster cars (Ferraris, Porsche GT3, some racing cars) were not in my class. I had vettes, that Elise and Super 7, BMW's etc. I smoked them! hehe Enjoy the pics. Oh yeah, the Corvette club wants to setup some kind of competition with us. Any interest?

Did you run different brake pads or stainless lines? Any other safety mods?

I've been to Summit many times with a different car and haven't had a chance to take the Viper as yet.

The first picture looks like you were going so fast that you distorted the shape of your car. \\\\\\\\\\ How did you do that?

Bob: His car appears to be exiting a worm hole.

Oh and batBoy:BTW, don't sell yourself to short with those prancing horse cars. You probably could have taken them also. On a side note - I'm not a Ford guy, but that is a nice looking Mustang.

Resizing without regard for the aspect ratio, that may be how the photo got distorted.

Glad you had fun, Batboy. BTW, "break" fluid is whats on the ground, after a car hits a wall!

Learn to go slow (not really "slow", but easy) into turns, and fast out, thats a quicker way to faster lap times than worrying about threshold braking just yet. Keep that p.s. cap tight!

Vipertime - Yes, I have slotted rotors and EBC Green pads. I believe the lines are factory though. I think if I just use better fluid everything will be fine.

Bob K. - I thought the same thing when I saw it, lol. I think it was due to the angle of the shot and where the car ended up in the picture. It is cool though! :headbang:

Todd - Yes, that Mustang was sweet. It's a Rousch (sp?) and personally signed by him as well. No real engine upgrades though. Just suspension, graphics, etc. Kinda like the ACR of my year. I'd still have one though.

Congrats on your first trip to the track! Seems as though you enjoyed it! :2tu:

First thing I would do next time is to take off those EBC GREENS, they are NOT for the track. You'll be alot faster with some better pads! :2tu:

I always knew Silver Vipers are the fastest! :D

Really? I thought they were good for the track. What should I use? Are the EBC Greens better for reduced dust but not stopping power? I think I had more stopping power available. I'm still new to the Viper as well as the track. I was also being a little careful. Didn't want to beat her up my first time out. Silvers are fast! I was the fastest in the group (okay, it was a novice group).
