My friend's 1994 Viper won't start.

My friend\'s 1994 Viper won\'t start.

His battery was dead from storing it.

He charged it and starts right up, but dies down. I know this has to be related to the alarm system. When the battery is dead or removed, does the remote has to be reset or programed?

What else do you think would be causing this?

gotta replace the battery! You may have enough to start it, but the alarm is very sensitive and will reset at a voltage drop. Lots of threads regarding this. Eveyone that has had this problem just repalced the battery and that corrected it.

I ran my battery down to nothing also. Jumped it and it wouldn't run on it's own for about 10 minutes, had to keep foot on the gas. It got to the point where I could barely drive it, so I limped home. Idle got better I guess from computer relearning. But I'm told that the car must have perfect voltage and a drained batterey isn't going to cut it. I charged battery all night and it ran MUCH better but would still die at idle at lights. Bought a new battery, installed it and runs perfect now.

9 times out of 10 all you need to do it set and unset your alarm before attempting to start the car. I bet that should work. Goood luck!~!

I agree with the other posts. I had the same problem when I replaced my battery. Good luck....Kurt
