My new Kumho tires offer great traction

Won't get to the track with mine till the Vette/Viper shootout on May 4th at MIR. (can't wait)

I had them mounted and balanced then drove about 6 miles then, stopped brought it up to 2500 let the clutch out and stepped on it. No spin.......Just hauled A**

And the tire pressure was at 42 lbs. The tires were not broken it yet

I think they will do great!

Are you serious I can't wait until I put them on tommorow, you mean you dumped the clutch a 2500 rpm and then proceeded to keep it to the floor and no spin at all! WOW! And thne 2nd gear no wheel hop or spin? Please say it aint so!!!!!!

Not quite like that, I should have said let the clutch out quickly but, not dumped. Yes they held 580 rwtq without spinning at 42 lbs. I did not speed shift 2ed just shifted quickly.

One more note, as talked about before they go around a corner good but they have so much more traction then the XGT's up front it feels like the back end is digging in.....Also, even with 42 lbs in them when I let off the gas at about 120 they felt like slicks with about 10 lbs in them.

So be careful when you first get them. They may feel better after being heat cycled a few times. I dont think I will be doing high speed sustained runs with them. jmho

The Kumho info. letter that came with the tires says to use pressures between 25 and 40 and the tires need not be mounted directionally according to the arrows,(you can rotate side to side or flip over for more wear). I plan to try much less than 35 psi for drag racing, start at about 22 and test from there. Mike

FYI I did a couple of dump clutch (2,500-3,000 RPM) from a stop and could only spin the tires 10-15 feet before they hooked up (w/o nitrous). Can't wait to try them at the track

WEll I just put them on and I ran them for about 40 miles and then gave it the ol test I dumped the clutch at 2500 then spun for about 25 ft. then it took off and second just grabbed and went, I tries again and slipped the clutch a little at about 3000 and the car bogged down and took off slipped again about 3500 and WOW it took off like a ***** ape! that was with 32 psi I will try the rack on Saturday with about 15 psi and go from there.

Well crap! Didn't do any better with the new tires

They didn't seem much better than pilots at the track. On the street the Kumhos seemed to hook a lot better, so don't know. Tried 2,500 dump clutch and feather clutch but made no difference. Oh well will try again soon

Were those times without nitrous? And what psi were your tires set at?

The 60' was w/o nitrous, I have a window switch so it don't come on until 3,000 RPM (past the 60') but the runs were with nitrous. Tires were at 25 psi and no smoky burn out just a short 1 sec spin to clean them off. The best I've got with sports was 1.91 with typically 2.0X times.
